Iran has likely earned $139 million per day by selling its flagship Iran Light crude so far in March, according to Bloomberg calculations based on export estimates by Tankertrackers.com and prices for Iranian Light.
The estimated daily revenues were nearly $25 million higher compared to the average of $115 million daily proceeds from Iranian Light in February, according to Bloomberg's calculations.
Iran is benefiting in several ways from the Hormuz crisis.
First, its tankers are transiting the Strait of Hormuz while most other Gulf oil supply is still trapped. Then, the massive supply shock from the Middle East has hiked international crude prices to above $100 per barrel (at about $105 a barrel of Brent early on Thursday), which adds more revenues from oil sales. And last but not least, the huge discount of more than $10 per barrel for Iran's oil to Brent before the war has now narrowed to just $2.10 per barrel this week.
Iranian oil exports have remained resilient since the U.S. and Israel started bombing Iran and killed the Ayatollah, meaning that the jump in oil prices and the free flow of Iranian oil through the Strait of Hormuz is likely hiking Iran's oil revenues.
Iranian crude exports remain relatively steady, maritime intelligence firm Windward said on Wednesday.
The U.S. waiver on Iranian sales may not be attracting buyers beyond the already established customers, the Chinese independent refiners, but it surely is driving up the price of Iranian crude to narrowed discounts to Brent.

Of course they are as long as idiots are willing to pay and that money is being used to buy more missiles
Meanwhile:
“NEW YORK (AP) — US stocks have their biggest loss since the war with Iran started as the S&P 500 drops 1.7%.”
Trump’s tactical success and strategic failure. A pyrrhic victory at best for now. Argue all you want but show me wrong.
He thought they would fold like Venezuela. Somebody probably misguided him to that conclusion. I heard Israeli rumblings to the effect that Iranians were ready for home grown regime change. Clearly the Iranians have not risen up against their regime. A study of why is more speculation. Could it be that he said if protesters were murdered he would intervene but he did not until some tens of thousands of them were killed?
He can’t shut down Iranian crude trading without pissing off people like China or hurting people like S. Korea and Japan. Meanwhile, he is hurting us and the rest of the world with this continuing action. Iran is hurting most of the Arab states around the Gulf by stopping their commerce.
The mass of Iranian weapons had to be taken out but without taking out radical Iranians it is only a partial victory. Without genocide and without causing considerable pain to our would-be allies there is limited leverage with Iran.
Take the Straits. You can control them until Iran regains enough power to irritate you at the least. Take Kharg Island, hurt the Iranians, you hurt our would be allies at the same time and ccontinue to hurt the price of oil. To control the Straits the US just about have to allow all commerce to pass or none of it.
Trump realizes this now i think. He is looking for an excuse to end this soon. First he gave 48 hours, then 5 days and now 10 days for Iran to negotiate favorably. He can give them 10 years, the result will likely be the same. Their goal now is to humiliate Trump.
Another belly button, another opinion. Time will tell.
Trump wouldn’t want that for any number of reasons that obviously escape you.
In fact, despite all his bluster and literal death threats, he’s reluctnatly removed all sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil. Stepping on your own dick makes for untintended consequences.
Try informing yourself, instead of blurting out silly ass proclaimations.
Maybe we should seize those Iranian tankers.
You're not wrong.
The marines and 82nd were never part of the initial plan - they weren't even plan-b. They're plan " let's jump through our asses."
That's the plan you pull out when your only plan was to spend a billions, assassinate heads of state, smash up everything and count on regime change...again.
At least death-pig Netanyahu is getting the destabilized Mideast he wanted, while America and the rest of the planet gets f'd.
A sure sign you got NeoConned. A war that’s easy to get into but hard to get out of.
Not only will Trump NOT want to do that, but - cuz clownworld - he removed all sanctions on Iranian oil.
Let that sink in; Rump was forced to *remove his existing sanctions on his new enemies. They're now raking in over a billion a week on the tankers you want to "seize."
Do you people bother reading anything when you visit Free Fepublic?
They aren’t receiving any of the funds, which are held in escrow by transfer banks pending US sanctions review. The reason they are allowed to send ships through the Strait is that they can’t mine it if they are using it themselves. DUH!
Beat me to it...
Bbbwwwaaahhhaaaa
They’ll never get enough for an ice to beat the heat before these proceeds are frozen stiff.
Ahhhh... haha
It feels a lot line Nothingyahoo did push us into this a lot of days doesn’t it?
After having gamed this they still do not appear to have a plan that can be considered “winning”. Central Command makes plans that I consider tactical and don’t finish them to include an ultimate conclusion with strategic intent. Said another way, their plans are to do exactly what they are told to do, kill people and break things under the orders of the civilian command to continue politics by other means.
A friend and I were discussion the victory over Germany today. The Germans did not exactly welcome us with open arms and crave regime change. They were not necessarily seeking that. Not necessarily, they were not. They were a defeated nation having to submit to the US and fearing they would have to suffer the Russians. Many did.
I see Iran much the same way. 90 million or so people lie between radical and rational at the extremes. On the main tht means they are only about half rational. Not necessarily a nation seeking full rescue from their radical leadership. Notwithstanding their justified fear after tens of thousands have been murdered for protesting they aren’t exactly taking opportunity to do it again for a radiccally changed regime.
I have not seen today’s Trump and cabinet news conference. Did not know about it until minutes ago. I hear it was something to behold.
Undoubtedly caused by the fact conservatives have a majority on the US Supreme Court, right?
“Not necessarily a nation seeking full rescue from their radical leadership”
— It truly takes a pompous idiot to make a statement such as this!
What TF would you want?
Tell me please what current evidence do you see that the Iranian people are clamoring for freedom from the radial regime.
The thousands murdered at the hands of the regime were counting on the US to take care of them. It did not happen. Realistically, it could not and it still can’t. Only a relative handfull of radicals have somehow kept the masses who supposedly hate them in check.
You seem to think the people want change. How do you think they could do it?
"The Full Quote: "And that's why we see ourselves as part of this negotiation as well. We negotiate with bombs. You have a choice, as we loiter over the top of Tehran... about your future".

I see that your question went unanswered, is it always does when you ask these armchair generals what they would have done (or would do) about the threat presented by religious lunatics with nuclear ambitions, seething hatred of the US, and tons of money.
Choke Iran into permanent submission.
