EVEN BY HIS chaotic standards, Donald Trump has just presided over an unusually wild week in his misguided war on Iran. The president had threatened imminent, punitive bombing of Iran’s civilian energy infrastructure. Though Iran didn’t quail, markets did. So a U-turn followed. Mr Trump said he had become aware of secret proposals for peace talks, and held off.

biased garbage is garbage, surprised they didn’t work TACO in there somewhere
“The economist is a real publication. “
The paper of record for the NWO.
i’m ready to abandon trumps endless wars and surrender the the mullahs...
not.
be real people. iran has been at war with US for 50 years. we just started fighting back and it took 2 weeks.
So when Obama and Biden bombed things it was with amazing affect???
What does that have to do with the price of tea in Iran?
“in his misguided war on Iran”
It isn’t just that they’re biased, but they have no intention anymore to hide it.
Decades ago I subscribed. In a moment of bias showing through I committed to sending them no more money.
Now their slant is in every sentence.
As you could ask any TDS Leftist,
Do you deny they were world no.1 sponsor of terror?
Do you think their mantra “Death to America” is in jest?
Do you deny they had missiles of huge range?
Do you really believe they weren’t developing nuclear weapons and would either use them on us or blackmail us with them?
Did you know of some other way of stopping them?
By “talking”, seriously?
By sending planeloads of cash?
Trump was faced with a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop them while Israel had all their air defenses down.
Yes it involved risk. Doing nothing involved not risk but certainty of disaster.
The teenagers are to be used to man checkpoints to block possible weapons flow to freedom fighters.
I suspect the adults now being used to man checkpoints are being eliminated by drone at a fast rate.
And yet Free Republic is all too willing to post packs of lies.
To the many, many, many Freepers here with TDS and who oppose all of Trump’s actions such as the war against Iran, 2 simple questions
1. If not now, then when?
2. If not this way, then how?
I didn’t expect you to understand it.
The problem is it can be taken 2 opposite ways. So I am not surprised you expect such when you apparently wrote it to be intentionally not understandable.
How about you explain how using 12 year old children in your army amounts to winning a war?
So sad. Many years ago I read the Economist cover to cover.
No longer!
You still do not understand it. You never will. Keep flailing about but no one can fix stupid.
“...Economist would be singing a different tune.”
Same tune. They’d just be blaming different people or Trump for his first term even though it was Obama and Biden that supported the problem with giving them funds to have their war.

Ahh, ad homimens and the fools arrogance of self deception in their use.
Your inability to explain says all that needs to be said.
“achieved nothing”
Clearly we have bombed and destroyed many missles, many missle launchers, etc.
Is there any accounting of how many of each weapon are destroyed and how many of each weapon are still operational, or made operational with minor repair? Clearly some are still operational. How many? and Why?
Drones are a special category. Iran manufactures them in volume for Russia, etal as well as for themselves. How do we shut down the drones?
Once we control the air, it would seem easy to gain control of the Hormuz strait.
The good thing about this war and the coverage of this war... It’s becoming obvious which organizations and reporters are on the payroll of Russia, and which have obvious sympathies towards terrorist organizations.
Hopefully somebody’s keeping track... If total war ever does break out it will be useful to know exactly who should be rounded up and detained.
So by these morons reasoning... if Iran had wiped out Trump, congress, all our airforce, navy top military commanders, military industry, etc, we would be winning?!
To paraphrase Bill Clinton, that "depends on what the
meaning of 'nothing' is." There may be an ayatollah or
two who disagree with The Economissed...

;^)
Takes a special kind of retard to call removing the entire leadership and war making capability of a country in a few weeks time, “nothing”.
