@RepNancyMace
Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.
@RepNancyMace
The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee. This gap is deeply troubling. The longer this war continues, the faster it will lose the support of Congress and the American people.
@RepNancyMace
Washington’s war machine is hard at work. They are try to drag us into Iran to make it another Iraq. We can’t let them.

I like Nancy Mace but try to remember she’s running for Governor of SC so she’s going to say what she needs to to get elected.
I don’t think Muslims respect “Democracy” anyways. I think their religion teaches them that the only natural form of government is a “strong man” who is Allah’s representative.
Iran isn’t Iraq. Whether or not the Iranian people can fulfill their part is something we have no control over. I certainly hope they can, because Trump is likely the last president to do anything about Iran on this scale. If we hadn’t received help from France during our revolution, we wouldn’t be about to celebrate our 250the Independence Day.
That’s the one who was smart enough to stuff a sock in his own mouth whenever he felt the urge to call Lindsey Graham “a great American” and/or brag about Operation Warp Speed — the two things that would routinely bring a chorus of boos from his own supporters at his own political rallies
Neither did Kennedy or Truman, and if you think that holds a president back from taking necessary action, then anyone conversing with you on political matters is probably wasting his time.
And I meant "Declare War" in the real sense of starting an attack against them, not petitioning Congress.
For what it’s worth, I can’t think of anything that does more to undermine the credibility of anyone today than citing Jimmy Carter as an authority on anything in public matters. LMAO.
Well I was 18 at the time, and I just knew what should be done. I wasn't worried about the particulars.
The truth doesn’t change, but it’s been changing in the Administration’s account of the war since the day it began without Congress knowing about it.
Changing stories is clear indicia of deception.
What is retarded is thinking you can live with nuclear suicide bombers.
Even the Soviets wanted to live. "Twelver" Muslims? Not so much.
“Well I was 18 at the time, and I just knew what should be done. I wasn’t worried about the particulars.”

And there’s the issue. We expect a president to be more mature and thoughtful than an 18-year old hothead.
When I was 18 I had the advantage of several years of Reagan-era incompetence and/or malfeasance to inform my discernment on the subject.
Most of the time doing what your constituents want is the right thing to do. But the ENTIRE REASON for having a representative form of government is to better consider consequences before taking or not taking action.
You should read of the Greek's experience with "Democracy."
It's exactly why the framers didn't want any.
That is ridiculous.
Factoid
Iran is the 17th largest country in the world.
I did not know that Johnny Carson /
I have been watching some YouTube videos of the ancient empire of Elam in that region. Interesting stuff.
And the 18 year old "hothead" turned out right, while the brilliant nuclear engineer turned out to be a moron.
Allowing Iran to fall into the hands of the religious fanatics has resulted in the deaths of over a million people, and pretty much created all world wide Islamic terrorism.
And but for Trump's intervention, might have killed billions.
Some please tell her tits not for her to decide
Oh yes there was - the Cold War was in full swing. That was a huge reason.
But thank you for acknowledging the other facts did in fact occur unlike what occurred on the thread from the other day. That’s progress.
“at the tender young age of 4. :-P” Now that is actually funny.
With a congress full of turncoats that have befriended the jihadis in Iran, I wouldn’t tell much of anything because everything you tell congress immediately gets passed on to the enemy.
I wouldn't call Reagan's failing to do anything about Iran "incompetence." He was having a hard enough time dealing with the Soviets and Congress, which was a Soviet ally at the time.
And what particular thing do you regard as Reagan-era malfeasance?
I can understand her feelings if she thinks the administration is not being forthcoming, but she is not paid, nor was she elected to walk out. I can also appreciate how the administration may be concerned about security, Trump may not want to show all his cards right now just so they can be leaked to the press.
Sounds like she’s lending aid and comfort to the enemy.
Agree.
Exactly my point upthread.
