(TULARE COUNTY, CA) - Several people were arrested after an investigation revealed that 30 deer were illegally poached in multiple counties.
Wildlife Officers in Tulare County served search warrants that led to arrests in Visalia and Farmersville as part of a poaching investigation.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife said the warrants were served March 13 following a multiyear investigation spanning Fresno, Tulare, and Kern counties in deer zones D7, D8, and D9.

There were 7 of the fury lawn mowers in my yard this morning. Yesterday there were 11. Most of them looked pregnant. There’s just too damn many of them. 30 deer in 3 years? That’s not that many, but they should be given an award for trying anyway.
Happily, the idiots in OR made sure to add Exterminators killing Rats to the list of prohibited animal killings.

I saw three dead deer by the side of the freeway on Saturday. Better as venison in someone’s freezer than a carcass by the side of the road.

Yes I believe in enforcing The Game and Fishing laws. But when you watch these shows on television and they follow the officers around they’re hiding in the bushes for hours to see if somebody takes 12 fish instead of 10. I know it matters but when we have much worse crime and people in need I just think it’s a bit over the top in terms of resources.

being the matriarch's recipe.
In my neck of the woods, the Amish practice of “if it’s brown, put it down” can make it unfair for some of the rest of us. I don’t mind nailing poachers.
How many injuries and fatalities were prevented by removing those 30 road hazards?
For sure. Some of the best meat I ever had was some smoked venison backstraps.
