A group of more than a dozen youths stormed a Chevron gas station at Power Inn Road and Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento on Thursday night, creating chaos and stealing merchandise, prompting a call to police.

Surveillance footage captured the group rushing into the store, throwing items off shelves and tearing apart aisles.

Store manager Shailesh Chand said, “They all came in the store and started messing up with the goods, throwing things here and there and grab whatever they can grab.”

Satish Chandra, the only worker present that night, called 911 for assistance.

“By the time I was at the door, they all sort of knew. So I’m calling the cops because you guys have too many. I cannot handle you guys,” Chandra said.

He reported calling the police at 8:04 p.m. However, police never arrived at the gas station.

The Sacramento Police Department stated that at the time of the call, officers were responding to a related disturbance involving juveniles in the 200 block of Bicentennial Drive. The department noted that the caller at the Chevron did not expect to be contacted by police.

Chand expressed concern about the situation, saying, “With this kind of situation, there is more of, like, a fear to it, you know.”

He emphasized the importance of accountability and hoped such incidents would not recur.

“We are down on gas sales right now. Now, our hope is merchandise, and we are having a loss, a big loss of merchandise in this way,” Chand said.
