President Donald Trump announced Monday he is postponing planned U.S. military strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure for five days after what he described as "very good and productive" talks with Tehran.
"I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the middle east," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"Based on the tenor and tone of these in depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, i have instructed the department of war to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions." Trump later told reporters that Iran is looking “to make a deal” and said U.S. envoys have been in talks with a “respected” Iranian leader.
In a gaggle with reporters on the tarmac in West Palm Beach, Florida, carried live by Newsmax, he added that Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner held discussions Sunday into the evening, with negotiations set to continue.
He did not identify any officials representing Tehran and said the U.S. has not spoken with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump also said that if an agreement is reached, the U.S. would move to take control of Iran’s enriched uranium tied to its disputed nuclear program.
The move marks a notable shift from Trump's warning Saturday night, when he issued an ultimatum to Iran, signaling the U.S. was prepared to strike power plants and key energy facilities within 48 hours if Tehran failed to de-escalate and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to safe passage. ***

I don’t think it will buy us anything. Those people are crazy but then so were the Japanese.
It’s islam they’re lying
Trump is being a sucker...
Why don’t they mention that Iran says no negotiations have taken place?
Journalism is often garbage these days
Of all times for TACO Trump to come back...We are SO close to total victory.
He should bomb their water treatment facilities and desalination plants while he’s at it.
He strikes at midnight 😂😂😂
President Donald Trump announced Monday he is postponing planned U.S. military strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure for five days after what he described as “very good and productive” talks with Tehran. I don’t know if I would have announced that Mr. President...keep ‘em guessing.
We’re SO very very close to Victory.
President Trump has said it himself (recently too), don’t negotiate when you’re winning...
Trump
U.S.A. #1
A very prominent Iranian activist that I follow online and she goes on Fox a lot begged Trump yesterday to NOT touch the energy facilities that that is what the regime wants him to do, to have all of Iran in darkness, that will just punish the Iranian people, and I think Trump listened to what she said..go after the regime, destroy them, destroy their missile capability and destroy as much of the regime as possible
“don’t negotiate when you’re winning...”
But someone has to be in charge of Iran. What if we are talking to people who can take over the country?
I don’t want USA to have to go in and run country.
What is “total victory”?
Successfully translating Ahmed Chalabi into Crown Prince Reza?
I am open to that, yes
Iran is currently having inter-faction power struggles going on. That's why one day they agree to no executions and then they execute the wrestler. The diplomatic faction was negotiating something the hard-liners weren't willing to commit to.
The theocracy rushed to name the new Ayatollah who hasn't been seen or heard, while the IRGC bombing the hotels, airports, and oil facilities of neighboring Arab countries.
Trump can always resume the bombing if he believes he's dealing with people who have no control inside Iran. At least he can say he tried, and a one-day pause bought him some recovery in the stock market.

Me too. I hate the way MSM and Dems are trying to make him look stupid over saying he is not sure who is running the country
he’s not stupid.
the last supposed leader of the Iranian dictatorship was either DEAD or else seriously disabled in a secret hospital bed... and they filmed a CARDBOARD CUTOUT as the “leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran” in their press release, propaganda videos
It’s so funny reading comments from people (on this site and others) criticizing Trump, saying how stupid he is, how gullible he’s being, etc. I assume all these people a. have access to all the intelligence and information that he does, and b. are multi billionaire twice Presidents married to super models.
In one aspect it is not a good idea to destroy Iran’s electric power infrastructure. It would cause misery for Iran’s general population, and turn those that are with us- Against us.
