Two more nations signed on to a letter Saturday strongly condemning Iran’s partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz – isolating the Islamic Republic diplomatically as it seeks to apply maximum economic pressure by bottling up oil shipments.
The two latest to join are Australia and the United Arab Emirates – one of Iran’s Gulf neighbors who has been bombarded with missile attacks from Tehran – bringing the total to 22 countries.
Earlier signatories were the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan, whose Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told reporters Thursday that she informed President Trump what her country “can do and cannot do,” citing war limits outlined in Japan’s constitution.
“They are really stepping up to the plate,” Trump said at the White House, despite his on and off fury that allies weren’t sharing more of the burden.
Later Friday, he posted that the Strait “will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!”
Defense experts said naval escorts to protect shipping would require the use of destroyers. Following Iran’s initial threats to US, Israeli and allied ships, vessels flagged to China, India, Turkey and Pakistan have continued to trickle through the crucial corridor.
Iran was also preparing to allow Japanese ships to pass through the strait, Al Jazeera reported.

Germany is sending its fleet.
The Houthi have just lost most of their funding. They won’t be attacking anyone without the financial support.
Do you have a link for that? I couldn't find anything about that (which would be great if it's true!)
Unfortunately, that was meant as sarcasm.
They do have a navy, but will not provide help.
The world's going to win this war against Iran - Trump's pulled it off.
Maybe.. but the fact that 22 countries state that they support the cause, America, and Trump sends a clear message to all of our enemies.
“Maybe that’s an issue of capacity. Maybe enough can’t go through the pipeline they have…? “
Yup the red sea pipeline maxed out with the parallel natural gas line converted to liquids is 7 million barrels per day. The amount through the Straight is 20-22 million it’s not going to cut it. Saudi did convert the NG pipeline so they have 7 MMBBL per day it’s not enough. Nor is it capable of carrying Urea, sulfur, LNG or LPG that straight is the energy choke point of the world. Using nukes is not out of the question the Russians nor the Chinese will do sh1t they won’t risk their capital cities. Tactical nukes are meant to be used. Hit the energy island and use bunker busters B61s as designed on their deep sites it will send the message the world’s only super power will use nukes again and again if need be.
And, there is a bit of ground (and foot-dragging) between ‘offering’ and actually stepping up.
A “letter” that is “strongly condemning”. That’s gotta hurt.
What’s a partial blockade?
MSM and Drudge still exist?😂
It’s called the “Pucker Effect” once they discovered that Iran actually does possess long-range missiles.
“Germany is sending its fleet.”
ROTFLOL!
Germany just declined a US request to help open the Strait of Hormuz ...
AND Germany, UK, Italy and Germany just announced that they’d help “secure” the Strait ONLY AFTER A CEASE FIRE OCCURS!
some “allies”, hey? ... how do they think WWI and WWII would have turned out if the USA had taken that stance then?
