Number of countries offering to ‘contribute’ to opening Strait of Hormuz grows to 22

Two more nations signed on to a letter Saturday strongly condemning Iran’s partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz – isolating the Islamic Republic diplomatically as it seeks to apply maximum economic pressure by bottling up oil shipments.

The two latest to join are Australia and the United Arab Emirates – one of Iran’s Gulf neighbors who has been bombarded with missile attacks from Tehran – bringing the total to 22 countries.

Earlier signatories were the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan, whose Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told reporters Thursday that she informed President Trump what her country “can do and cannot do,” citing war limits outlined in Japan’s constitution.

“They are really stepping up to the plate,” Trump said at the White House, despite his on and off fury that allies weren’t sharing more of the burden.

Later Friday, he posted that the Strait “will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!”

Defense experts said naval escorts to protect shipping would require the use of destroyers. Following Iran’s initial threats to US, Israeli and allied ships, vessels flagged to China, India, Turkey and Pakistan have continued to trickle through the crucial corridor.

Iran was also preparing to allow Japanese ships to pass through the strait, Al Jazeera reported.

“Alright. Looking for volunteers. Volunteers to leave the wagon and start pulling it. Pullers get dibs, okay? Dibs on the good stuff. Riders get dabs. Dabs of what’s left. Dibs versus dabs. Simple math. Not hard. Who are my volunteers?…” —Wagon Teamster Trump

Iran was also preparing to allow

We need to get the point where this is not their call. They have been holding the world hostage with these threats and actions for decades.

And the same people on this forum claiming "they pose no threat" also are harping on how this threatens the US and world economies. They have zero shame in how their narratives do not match.

I mean in the meanwhile can’t we just use Saudi Arabia’s huge pipeline to the Red Sea?

Maybe that’s an issue of capacity. Maybe enough can’t go through the pipeline they have…?

Not to mention what it’s capable of carrying…?

It’s the same as before:

From the article:
“We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning,” it continued, without specifying the nature of that support.

They already stated what they consider “appropriate support” and it does not include sending any naval assets until after hostilities have ceased.

The KSA has recently put into operation the pipeline they built some 40+ years ago that ends up at the Red Sea port of Yanbu. It can only carry about 5 to 8 million (depending on the source) barrels per day, and the port may not be able to handle that many, according to some sources.

This pipeline will help, but can’t make up for the quantity shipped out of the Strait before the war. At most, it can deliver only a third.

If the Houthis start acting up again, as they have recently threatened, shipping bin the Red Sea may also be put at risk.

Based on what is going on with the elimination of IRGC & Basij Leadership, I would suspect we & the Mossad have lots of on the ground intel in Iran.

This needs to keep happening until they cannot even respond with missile strikes, X exchanges, or CNN interviews.

The leadership is hiding out in plain site & posing as members of Red Crescent Society.

Bring this regime to the grave! Whatever it takes! They have no mercy on their own people, why should we have any on them?

22 nations condemned Iran, but how many of them are actuality ponying up naval resources to police the Persian Gulf?

Much of the EUroweenies’ NATO spending increases to meet Trump’s demands turned out to be dual use infrastructure and disguised social programs. A little harder to fake ships, but doesn’t mean they won’t give it a try.

Trump should demand they each publicly disclose what they send and the delivery date. Maybe they should just fork over money so the real men can replenish ammo stocks.

According to the MSM and DRUDGE... Iran is winning the war, so I guess there will be no need for any assistance.

Yeah, but how many of those ‘contributors’ would really prefer helping Iran to defeat the United States and Israel, thereby opening the Strait because Iran could then sell their oil all over the world.
