Spokesperson for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards killed in strike, state media reports

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini has been killed in ‌strikes launched by the US and Israel, Iranian state TV reported on Friday.

Naini, also the agency’s deputy of public relations, was assassinated just days after Israeli forces eliminated the clerical regime’s de-facto leader, Ali Larijani, and its anti-protest enforcer Gholamreza Soleimani.

Hours before his death, Naini insisted that Tehran was still able to build missiles despite the US forces’ bombardment from Operation Epic Fury.

“These people expect the war to continue until the enemy is completely exhausted,” he said. “This war must end when the shadow of war is lifted from the country.”

Naini’s remarks were in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming Iran “has no ability to enrich uranium and no ability to produce ballistic missiles.”

“We are continuing to crush these capabilities. We will crush them to dust, to ashes,” Netanyahu said at a press conference on Thursday, according to the Times of Israel.

Earlier this week, Naini dismissed claims that Iran’s navy had been obliterated – warning President Trump that the US could send vessels into the Persian Gulf if he dared.

“The Strait of Hormuz is completely under the management of the IRGC Navy and Iran has complete sovereignty,” he said, according to the Tasnim News Agency.

“Doesn’t Trump say that he destroyed the Iranian Navy? So if he dares, he can send his ships into the Persian Gulf region.”

They hit the CNN HQ in Atlanta?

Or the NYT HQ in NY?

Well deserved, but hope they checked with Trump.

Edit: oh, they mean the Iranian spokesman for IRGC in Iran. Oh well, maybe they’ll work up the chain.

"Who will be the next spokesperson for Iran?"

Pretty soon they will start making women part of their team. You know, to hide behind and get maximum media sympathy.

A bold career guy could hang on long enough to surrender.

Pre-call the Mossad tip line. “Ok you need to whack 8 guys before I am Generalisimo Grande. Ali eats lunch at the falafel stand on 223 Mohammed street at 12:30. You guys have the pre-signed surrender paper, right?”

You can’t build missiles without electrical power.

We have air superiority.

A realitively simple and easy way to take take out an electric grid without causing lasting damage is to drop foil chaff over transmission lines. The chaff has to be long, maybe 100 feet.

The chaff crosses between the transmission lines and causes a phase to phase short which trips open protective circuit breakers.

With enough chaff dropped they will be cleaning the transmission lines for days before they can close the breakers again.

They may have diesel backup power but you can’t refine oil with out power. I all so doubt that all of the components for the missiles are made in tunnels with diesel backup power.

In Nelson's times the junior officers of the RN used to lift their glasses to a “sickly season or a bloody campaign”. I wonder if the RGBC non-com officers wish for a good bombing campaign by the US and Israel?

:-)
