<< How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome. >>
I don't have those words quite right (Churchill said it better) but that was his sentiment. I've tried to find that quote on line, without success.
Leftism is a much bigger threat
Mad Mo didn’t figure Trump-Nado!
The British socialists are planning on removing his image off their money and replacing it with image of wildlife....
Good job, thanks.
were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
Some of it is not so sheltered and some has returned to the old ways. Some consider Churchill a heretic.
Interesting observation. That's a question, I think. Which is the bigger threat?
That those two evils use each other when convenient makes me think they're about equal.
Here is an interesting video. It's a bit long, and the speaker is a little tedious, but it contains an insight about "useful idiots" and the left, and the ROP.
Queer Muslims Vacation In Gaza Is CUT SHORT… .
The most important content starts at 7:27 in the video.
To summarize, she says that the Iranian left made common cause with the mullahs back in the late 1970s, with the goal of bringing down the Shah.
I looked it up on line, and found that it was true. In doing so, I was reminded of names I had forgotten from that time. The Tudeh Party of Iran and the Fedaian guerrillas were Communist left-wing organizations, probably financed by the USSR. They helped Khomeini spread his revolution. When the Republican Guards took over, they murdered the Tudeh and Fedaian people.
I had forgotten (or was unaware of) these things. It's the same old story. Organizations A, B, and C come together to overthrow the establishment. After they succeed, the most ruthless of A, B, and C turns, and stands the other two up against a wall.
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on ...”
Thanks for the more complete remarks by Churchill on Islam. I knew he had more to say than was in the earlier post.
If Iran had stayed Zoroastrian rather than adopting Islam, it probably would be an economic and technological powerhouse today.
It's also quite telling that the poorest countries in Europe are mostly Muslim (Albania+Kosovo, Bosnia). Even in Nigeria, the mostly Christian Igbo tend to be far more economically successful than the predominantly Muslim Yoruba and Fulani people tend to be impoverished dirt farmers.
Unfortunately, some societies that were mostly secular and only nominally Muslim before, e.g. Indonesia and especially Malaysia, are now becoming more Islamicized, which will lead them backwards as well.
Didn’t a British MP get arrested for reading this in public some years ago?
Just got the DVD “El Cid” with
Chuck Heston-—
Interesting Fellow ,seems He tried to Appease Mad Mo a thousand Years ago.

Great Movie Chuck!
Leftism is a much bigger threat
Very much so, since Islam and Leftism, at least its current US and Western European versions, are exactly opposite one another on social issues (e.g. feminists, homosexuals, etc. don't do so well in Islamic societies).
This isn't necessarily true in Third World countries, where the radical Left focuses more on anti-capitalism and "anti-imperialism" rather than on sexual identity politics and the other social issues that obsess American liberals.
Remember, for the leaders on the Left, it is always about political power. As a great conservative, who was a stalwart leftist pointed out: The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.
Worth another read. I’ve read this many times on your page. Thanks for preserving it.
Several states are now in the process of or have already banned the application or implementation of sharia law in their jurisdictions.
