ORLANDO, Fla. (WESH/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) - A Florida judge sentenced a 70-year-old man to 37 years in prison Wednesday for a 2023 crash that killed four members of one family.
Richard Ferguson was convicted in October 2025 of manslaughter after prosecutors said he allowed his unlicensed 15-year-old son to drive his car. Authorities said the teen, who did not have a permit, crashed into another vehicle, killing three children and their grandmother.

Both parties are guilty of murder.
The kid probably had had no driving lessons. It is almost as bad as one of those Sikh truck drivers.
“Sounds like a just sentence to me.”
If he gave the kid a gun which the kid did not know how to operate and let him go outside where other kids were it would probably be the same thing.

No, at age 55. The math wasn’t mathing.

CHECK YOUR MATH.
It happens. My grandfather was 48 when my aunt was born and 45 when my dad was born. He was 13 years older than my grandmother... and still outlived her by three years
Mine are quite spread out and youngest born in my mid 40s
Mid 50s now and considering having some more
That is awesome! The more, the better.
Safe to say you didn't win the Fields Medal ? But what do I know.
My grandfather was 70 when he fathered my Dad. His wife was 42. Two years later he fathered another son.
He served in the Army during the civil war while living in Maine. I’m 67 BTW.
wow
you r incredibly bad at math....LOL
I think anyone who commits murder needs to be tried as adults. It can be 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree, or however the different levels are classified, but it needs to be adult sentences. Anything less and its disrespect for justice and the people that were murdered. I dont care what age the murderer is, the people are murdered regardless of the killers age. Also dont care what sex the killer is. Equal sentencing for female murderers, which is not what we have today.
Approximately when was your dad born , 1910 ? Just doing some math. Quite amazing - my great great grand father served during the War for Southern Independence
The son is a minor. Punishments often less.
If it was California instead of Florida the kid could probably have got a CDL, if he acted like he did not understand english.
Yes! Incredibly, men age 55 and even older can routinely still "get it up" and produce viable sperm.
This is evidently something you didn't learn in 7th-grade biology.
HOW OLD IS MOM????
Presumably, she was still pre-menopausal at the time of the boy's birth.
Men can marry and father children with women even many decades younger than themselves.
Again, this is something that you apparently failed to learn in junior high school.
Regards,
How about leaving loaded weapons and explosives around where underage children can easily access them? Should I be held accountable just because my kids were playing around with some sticks of dynamite I left out in the open, and accidentally killed someone?
Regards,
Try....”Sired kid at 55!
70-15=55.
He’s a guy. Most guys have live ammo until they die.
Same here. Its my Great Great Grandfather, his 5 brothers and 3 of my G-G-Uncles who served in the Confederate Army.
