A red fox stowed away on a cargo ship that departed Southampton, England, and was found by customs officers at the Port of New York and New Jersey.
The Wildlife Conservation Society, which operates the Bronx Zoo in New York, said U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered the approximately 2-year-old male fox hiding among the ship's cargo when it arrived at the Port Authority.
The 11-pound fox was brought to the Bronx Zoo on Feb. 19.
"The fox is currently in the Animal Health Center at the Bronx Zoo, where it is under the care of the zoo's animal and veterinary teams. Initial examinations indicate that the fox appears to be in good condition," the WCS said. "Veterinarians are awaiting results from additional routine health screening."
A permanent home for the fox will be found once it is given a clear bill of health, officials said.
Shotguns. Shotguns and various categories of hunting rifles have never been banned, and are as widely owned as they have ever been. Here in rural southwest England, all my immediate neighbours are farmers, and all have guns.
Now I have an ear worm with bumper music and an image of a junk yard.
...and now I do as well... :)
Even animals are trying to move be from the insane UK. The Red Fox heard that Trump is doing a better job than the Muslim ass kissing PM and King Charles... 🤣
I recently saw an absolutely beautiful healthy looking fox loping along like he owned the place in Flushing cemetery in Queens NY. He glanced at me with mild disinterest as he passed, not even bothering to widen his track as he did so. Seems the foxes, like the birds in NYC, don’t sweat humans much.
The Redcoats are coming! The Redcoats are coming!
My first thought was that the big dummies left the second d off of his name.
Probably the happiest time of his life hunting rats aboard the ship
“It’s the Big One, Elizabeth!”
Are those gorilla cookies he’s eating?...
I checked more than one site about the legality of killing foxes and dogs in the UK, and it depends on certain laws when it comes to foxes on one’s property. It has to be done humanely, no letting dogs kill a fox or poisoning it, etc. One site even said they weren’t considered vermin.
My point was that Muslims who follow sharia law probably won’t be held to the same level of responsibility as the rest of the UK subjects should they kill a fox or a dog or a fox they think is a dog.
But his fleeing Britain shows how bad things are getting over there.
Shotguns kind of limit the range though I’m sure that’s what your government intended. My grandmothers family (fathers side) were all farmers. As late as the mid 60’s they were still in the truck garden business. Though they’d reduced operations due to advancing age they still had row crops extending a little over a 1/4 of a mile from their house. On one occasion I we t there and as I exited the car I heard a very lout gunshot. Large rodents called groundhogs had set up a burrow in the crops about 200 yards from the house. Basically these animals eat money when they start munching your crops. they are also quite wary and dive into their holes if you try to approach them. One of my great uncles had been sitting on their porch with a 30-06 rifle and picking them off one at a time. I think I heard nun er 2 or 3 I don’t remember that detail. Couldn’t have done it with a shotgun.
