Democrats panic over Eric Swalwell residency doubts as rival demands he quit race: ‘Red flags’
California Post ^ | 3/12/26 | Josh Koehn

Rep. Eric Swalwell’s claims about living in a rented California home have raised “red flags” among members of the state Democratic Party after multiple neighbors at his supposed home of nine years have never seen or met him.

The Democrat frontrunner for Governor claims he’s lived since 2017 with another family in a 1,350-square-foot Livermore home owned by the sister-in-law of his political mentor, Tim Sbranti.

But five neighbors failed to identify Swalwell on Wednesday when The Post showed them a picture of the congressman and identified him by name.

“I’ve never seen him,” said Gita Prusty, who noted she’s lived on Michell Court for five years.

Lauren Antony, 19, lives in a house two doors down from Swalwell’s listed address, but she told The Post she had “never seen” him after being shown his picture.

When asked how long she has lived on the street, she said: “All of my life.”

Swalwell’s unusual housing arrangement in his East Bay district, as well as frequent campaign spending on luxury hotels in and around his district, have brought the congressman’s claims to California residency under fire.

The home on Wednesday had running shoes strewn across the doorstep, an upside-down container of cottage cheese was left in the yard, and faded patio chairs were placed near the doorstep next to a fire pit table.

Won’t matter. California law also disqualified Jerry Brown from his last stint as the state’s AG, but the California courts didn’t care when it was challenged.

Easy way to tell if he “lives” there.

Draw the floor plan. Where’s the bedroom, dining room, laundry room, kitchen and living room, stairs etc.?

Something like this ought to be easy to figure out.

What is the address on his driver’s license? Does he have a Caifornia driver’s license?

What is the address on his income tax returns?

Does he pay California income taxes, or does he file in some other state?

What address is associated with his law license from California?

Do his cars have California license plates? What address are those cars registered at? What does his car insurance policy say as far as where those cars are registered at?

Where does he stay when he comes back home to California from Congress?

Did he declare his home in the Washington DC area to be a primary residence, for taxes or mortgage benefits, or any other reason?

Just thinking that some of the items I’ve noted above could be verified in fifteen minutes.

Oops, I should clarify. The crash was in China. It was the Chinese government that “investigated” but didn’t want to make the results public, surprise, surprise.

I double-checked the name because Fang Fang might be a common name, and everything I checked indicated it was indeed her on that plane. One never knows how loyal a spy is; she might’ve been suspected of spying on the CCP, as well.

Who knows how many spies make it to their senior years.

The reason this is even a thing is because it’s the democratic primary and the democrats are bringing it up. Had it been republicans, all would be good. Spit!

Yeah, CaCaLand laws on that are never enforced.

As to seeing him, he looks and smells like a street bum who just robbed a nice clothing store.

He needs to stay in the running.

CaCaLand laws require a runnoff if no single person gets >50%. The runnoff must be between the two frontrunners. Because the DNC field is over stuffed by commie trash, the two front runners are presently GOP. If that holds, the runnoff will be between two GOP. No DNC candidate can become Guv’na.

I will laugh myself silly. And, they ain’t Schwartzenaggar Republicans.

They are worried about residency? When the CA courts would find a way to paper that over no matter how bad the facts for him.

They ought to be worried about a guy who is on the intelligence committee having a years long affair with a Chinese intelligence agent. He is badly compromised and the CCP owns him—they know a lot more about him than has been made public.

But the later is of no importance to D’s. Perhaps CA dems officials are also compromised??

So someone who does not even own property in California is the Democrats’ front runner for governor? In a State where high property taxes are a major issue, has he ever paid property tax? What is his address on his State and Federal income tax returns going back 10 years?

Meanwhile, Swalwell has a $1.2 million house in DC. Supposedly he claimed it as his primary residence to get favorable loan and insurance rates. Not sure if he pays property tax there.

How would he not have to pay property taxes?

What’s hilarious here is Rick Santorum was virtually crucified and lost an election over a situation that was not nearly as egregious as this. But democrats gonna democrat.

The FHA made a criminal referral on Swalwell that supposedly faults Swalwell for loan, insurance, and tax fraud related to his house in DC. I haven’t found/read the details and thus am not sure. Members of Congress and Senate are exempt from local income and personal property taxes in the DC area; it’s unclear (to me) whether this includes real estate property tax .
