The Secret Service has reportedly taken someone into custody after a vehicle collided with the White House gate(Image: NurPhoto via Getty Images) A motorist has been detained by the Secret Service following an incident involving a "suspicious vehicle" in the vicinity of the White House today.
Roads surrounding US President Donald Trump's residence were cordoned off with police tape this morning after a vehicle allegedly collided with the White House gates, reports the Mirror.
CBS correspondent Natalie Brand reported road closures and traffic disruption around the White House shortly before 7AM "due to Secret Service investigation".
She noted that a spokesperson confirmed "they're looking into a suspicious vehicle and says the driver has been detained and is being questioned."
Fellow CBS journalist Sara Cook stated that "a vehicle collided with the WH gate" prompting the Secret Service intervention.
