President Donald Trump is vowing to block all other legislation until the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act passes the Senate — his hardest push yet for a controversial bill which, among other things, would require strict voter ID in order to register to vote.
In a Sunday morning post to Truth Social, Trump — while lauding pro-MAGA activist Scott Pressler’s appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend — threatened to use the talking filibuster (which would require Democrats to speak continuously on the floor in order to delay a vote) to push the legislation through.
“Great Job by hard working Scott Pressler on Fox & Friends talking about using the Filibuster, or Talking Filibuster, in order to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, an 88% issue with ALL VOTERS,” Trump wrote. “It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else. MUST GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed, AND NOT THE WATERED DOWN VERSION – GO FOR THE GOLD: MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. & PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS EXCEPT FOR MILITARY – ILLNESS, DISABILITY, TRAVEL.”
Proponents of the bill argue, as Trump did, that voter ID laws are widely popular with Americans. But critics argue the ID requirements in the SAVE act are far more restrictive than many Americans realize, and its passage would lead to wide disenfranchisement.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has committed to maintaining a 60-vote threshold and has said that he cannot even get a simple majority of 50 to agree upon the procedural tactic required to move forward.

Stop spending money on anything until the elections are secure. This should have been done by the U.S. House or Representatives.
AFTER he added in allowing trannysexual drugs and surgery (as long as you have a note from their parents).
The greatest President in my lifetime....Sad that it seems strange our President has to go through hell to have honest elections. As is humanly possible that is.
YES.
With about a dozen liberal republican senators, the only way to pass it is to pay them off somehow.
“...and its passage would lead to wide disenfranchisement.”
Yeah, disenfranchisement of illegal voters.
It does. And he has ignored getting anything through Congress for a year. Too busy brown nosing the Tech AI bros, Israelis, Qatar, Brits, Euros, WEF, etc.
He’s seriously neglected the meat and potatoes work at home. He’s spiking fuel costs, Social Security is still taxed, healthcare premiums and electricity is skyrocketing, and the effort to deport has been a clown show, chasing random Mexicans through the streets.... 700k deported. Even if you believe the “self deportation” stats, we are barely over 2 million. We had at least 20 million pour in under Biden and 30 million already here.
No effort to stop remittances, require legal status to use banks or financial services, register a car, get a license, etc. I haven’t seen a single arrest of a business owner with dozens of illegals getting arrested.
He needs to stop fiddle farting around with mod term losers and focus at home.
That’s what I voted for . . .
He’s right..pass the damn bill, no watering it down, the ENTIRE bill of what we want..once passed the commies cant win without illegals
Agreed.
How many district judges will rule against that?
Remittances are taxed, if done in cash, now.
You have to use a debit card to send money to anyone in Central and South America, without the new tax.
The headline is wrong.
Trump is talking about the “SAVE America Act,” not the “SAVE Act.”
Believe it or not, there is a significant difference.

Voter ID.
The wooden stake that will be driven through the heart of the uniparty bloodsuckers.
If bribery was actually prosecuted we wouldn’t be having this problem.
Tennessee registers voters by county already with proof of who one is to be able to register.
Tennessee also allows electronic voter registration, relying on drivers license verification / proof of who one is to register to vote for current residents. For new residents since Jan 1, 2026 the process is pretty burdensome and that's deliberate as it should be.
To get a drivers license in TN, I had to prove who I was, where I came from, a copy of my drivers abstract (record), vehicle license plate registration from my previous state, and where I established residency in the state, birth certificate and copies of utility bills/bank statements with my new address on them.
To get my Voter ID (Yes, Tennessee REQUIRES voter ID) I had to provide my drivers license# in Tennesse, address, previous address and city I was born in. I also had to check a box confirming I agreed to a full background check prior to getting my Voter ID.
That was two weeks ago. My Voter ID arrived two days ago in the mail.
Pretty damn' efficient, I think especially since I had to provide all the ID needed to establish who I am, where I live, where I came from, etc.. in order to get a drivers license in the first place.
One last thing: In addition to my Voter ID card, I will have to also present a state issued or Federal issued Photo ID when I vote, for ALL ELECTIONS.
Where I came from (HELLINOIS) all anyone had to do was show up. No ID, no confirmation, nothing required. There was literally nothing stopping ANYONE from giving someone elses name and voting for them -- especially if that person on the voting rolls was dead. Yes, the dead DO VOTE in HELLINOIS.
I think he would be justified in delaying the midterms until it’s passed.
