US officials reveal the urgency behind ‘Operation Epic Fury’ attack on Iran
NY Post ^ | 2/28/26 | Emily Goodin

Iran posed an “intolerable risk” to the U.S. with its missile threat and, during negotiations, wouldn’t accept “free nuclear fuel forever” – all of which led up to Saturday’s attack on Tehran.

Senior administration officials briefed reporters on the hours leading up to “Operation Epic Fury.”

One official described Iran’s missile inventory and said it posed “an intolerable risk to the United States.”

The US had “indicators” that Tehran was going to launch a preemptive strike against American assets in the region, pointing to Iran’s retaliatory strikes on US bases in the region, including ones in Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, as proof.

“The president decided he was not going to sit back and allow American forces in the region to absorb attacks from conventional missiles. We had analysis that basically told us, if we sat back and waited to get hit first, the amount of casualties and damage would be substantially higher than if we acted in a preemptive, defensive way to prevent those launches from occurring,” the official said.

Another senior administration official described the final talks in Geneva with Iranian officials and revealed the astonishing offer the Americans made.

“One of the things we offered – we said, we will give you free nuclear fuel forever,” the official said. “And they basically said that didn’t work for them. They needed to enrich uranium.”

Anybody who keeps shouting, “death to America” , and characterizes America as the “great Satan”...(well there are certainly Satanic folk in America at present)..but this was not our historical basis for formation ...
Anyway, anyone who has historically physically attacked us ( at Hormuz, USS Cole, and our allies, builds uranium enrichment plants, sends out drones, and fires missiles, sponsors worldwide terrorism, and carries on duplicitous and deceitful negotiations) will necessarily be dismantled with great prejudice. We hope there will be a more moderate government rising out of the ashes in Persia.

Just a short aside to your comment on those that physically attacked the US:

Laura Loomer, Jewish-American Journalist:

In the Islamic calendar, yesterday was the 11th day of the ninth month. 9/11

It is a time for revenge against all Islamic terrorists.
President Trump carried out strikes in Iran on 9/11 during Ramadan. He is an absolute genius.

Jubilant crowds carrying Iranian, American, and Israeli flags in the same event WITH JOY ... never thought I’d see the day.

“carried out strikes in Iran on 9/11 during Ramadan”

Another pleasant coincidence; the 47th president ended their regime in it’s 47th year.

Iran has “negotiated” in bad faith for 47 years. Stall and delay has worked for them better than appeasement has worked for us. At the heart of negotiations is the fact that you have to do what you say you’re going to do. We either do what we promise or, once again, we are weak. Trump is the best negotiator we’ve ever had.

Balderdash! I don’t believe it. Not at all. Trump would not have delayed or scrubbed Operation Epic Fury if it could not have commenced on February 28. His decision to make it a “go” had nothing to do with what possible meaning a particular date on any calendar could’ve had, and anyone who believes that crap is probably still looking for clues as they listen to parts of the White Album being played backwards.

That’s my opinion, too. Destroy the threat, right down to the last person, ordnance, etc. If the people want freedom and take advantage of the opportunity, that’s great. If they don’t, well ...

I hope they’re desperate enough not to squander this gift from America and Israel.
