[Hosted by Stephen Fry] Far from being a time of chaos and collapse after the fall of Rome, this video dives deep into the real story of post-Roman Britain. Uncover fascinating archaeological findings that challenge the myth of a desolate wasteland, revealing thriving cities like York, innovative leaders, and a society that continued to trade and exchange ideas with the Mediterranean world. You'll see how evidence from cities, forts like Birdoswald, and stunning coastal sites at Tintagel and Devon prove that the so-called Dark Ages were instead a time of resilience, adaptation, and cultural brilliance.

Stephen Fry is poison.
Weren’t they all black then?/s
(side note: Stephen Fry has a small role in “St. Trinians” from 2007, one of the funniest movies in a long time)
Fascinating period. Thanks. The Latin town name of Eboracum (York) lives on in the New York city seal. “Sigilium Civitatis Novi Eboraci” (”seal of the city of New York”)
The time of Arthur. Or at least “an” Arthur who was a military leader in the Western part of the isle.
Francis Pryor is an excellent archeologist and historian. He was a regular on the original 20 years BBC 4 series “Time Team.” These 2 or 3 shows are though provoking and well worth watching. I don’t recall seeing Stephen Fry in them.
