The DNC establishment selected newly elected Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger as the face of their party to make their official response to President Trump's State of the Union speech.
And all anyone could conclude from it was 'what were they thinking?' [Rebuttal video at link]
With her knobby nose and missing lips, she had the unfortunate appearance of a gnome, and not a cute one. She can't help that, but Breitbart notes that her gestures were off, too, which she could have practiced a little.

The big problem, though, was her content -- a load of hypocrisy, lies and distortions. She laid out an amazingly wretched speech, delivered before a small funereal audience which didn't look too happy to be there, spouting the usual tropes about Epstein, Trump enriching himself, Trump loving dictators, and other constantly repeated claptrap that is too boring to comment on.
She did lay out the standard Zohran Mamdani-inspired talking point about 'affordability' early on, though, the lack of which is inflation, which is a byproduct of excessive government spending, while oddly condemning the very popular DOGE project which identifies government waste in spending, in the same speech.
As for herself the alternative, she didn't say how she was making anything affordable; all she let out was that she was 'working hard,' offering zero details.

Behold the power of indoctrination! She was elected, complains about affordability while implementing 50 new taxes on Virginians. Were the election held today, I’d wager she’d win again.
That is what we’re up against and why we can’t coexist with progressives.
She bitched about the rising costs faced by the American people, yet her state has introduced or increased almost two dozen new taxes in her state since she took office. She’s a complete phony and one has to wonder how bright the Democrats are to use her as the charge for the high cost of living.

The GOP, as usual, put up weak sauce to oppose her.
This wasn’t a political miscalculation on their part; it was a confession.
Republicans have been accusing Democrats of prioritizing illegals over American citizens for years, and Trump handed them an opportunity to prove them wrong, and they didn’t take it.
They couldn’t do it, so they handed Republicans a huge gift for the upcoming midterm elections. Trump baited them, and they took the bait. He knew they wouldn’t stand, and now the whole country knows that the only people Democrats stand for are illegal immigrants.
When voters pull the lever in November, many of them are going to remember exactly what they saw: a chamber full of Democratic lawmakers who, when asked point-blank to put Americans first, didn’t take it.

Diversity initiatives in the Democrat party require putting white faces out in public.
But the white face has had to be a woman.
What were their choices Patty Murray or Lezzie Warren?
I think it was between Abby and Gretchen and they thought the sound of the name Abigail had a certain charm to it.

And the Democrats in Congress are crazy and anti-American.
Take away election fraud, and the political class in this country would be maybe 10% Democrat.
I sure hope the GOP tries to take away election fraud. It’s not clear that they will make the effort.
