CLEVELAND — Here we go! As the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland gears up to welcome the class of 2026 later this year, we're getting a first look at who could soon join rock 'n' roll royalty as the list of performers nominated for induction were just announced. And the nominees are... 2026 ROCK HALL INDUCTION NOMINEES
This year's list features 17 nominees -- including 10 who have landed on the ballot for the first time! Check the list to see if your favorites made the cut...
The Black Crowes
Jeff Buckley (first-time nominee)
Mariah Carey
Phil Collins (first-time nominee as a solo artist, previously inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010)
Melissa Etheridge (first-time nominee)
Lauryn Hill (first-time nominee)
Billy Idol
INXS (first-time nominee)
Iron Maiden
Joy Division/New Order
New Edition (first-time nominee)
Oasis
P!NK (first-time nominee)
Sade
Shakira (first-time nominee)
Luther Vandross (first-time nominee)
Wu-Tang Clan (first-time nominee)
Don’t tell me what you think of Mariah Carey.
Great. That means we'll probably see Avril Lavigne get in next year.
And still no Boston.
OK. No problem!
>>Iron Maiden?
Excellent!! (air guitar)
I forgot about them.
Obviously insane. Getting in must be tied to how much you donate, cause Tom Scholtz is notoriously tight, while those pop stars have money to burn in some cases.
You kind of stopped paying attention to stuff like this when you realized that every major cultural institution in this country is owned by people who think you are nothing more than sheep to be exploited.
They should have used more cow bell.
Toto should be inducted, if for nothing other than the fact that the five original members were session musicians on so many significant albums in the 1970s and 1980s. That Jeff Porcaro is not in the Hall in some form is a joke.
I’d also add Boz Scaggs, Foreigner, Boston, Styx and Kansas to the list. The R&R Hall is a joke. Iron Maiden, who I don’t particularly like, definitely deserve it, but they have apparently told the Hall to stop nominating them. All of those bands have had far more influence that half of the current nominees.
Stupid Cupid--Connie Francis (1958)
Ain't No Wheels on this Ship--Patsy Cline (1957)
We'll Never Hear the End of It--Dick Dale (1960)
Seven Nights to Rock--Moon Mullican (1956)
Oasis - Maybe?
Definitely Maybe.
Toto should be inducted, if for nothing other than the fact that the five original members were session musicians on so many significant albums in the 1970s and 1980s. That Jeff Porcaro is not in the Hall in some form is a joke.
Lukather should be in by himself, for all the songs outside of Toto he’s played on.
Foreigner got in a couple years ago.
True dat.
I weren’t born yet. Ha.
Couple you left off, demonstrating that incredible tightness, and vocal range. Try not to look at the screen LOL.

Really? I did not know Grand Funk Railroad were not in. Well. I know what music I like, and I don’t understand how they choose who they let in.
Same with the Oscars. I stopped watching them around 1998, because none of it seemed merit based in any way.
My bad, Foreigner apparently got in last year.
Thanks. I was more of a The Verve fan than Oasis, who I didn’t follow, so I said Maybe. I’ll take your word for it though.
