Portland Police arrest man in connection with alleged harassment of PCC student

Portland Police have arrested 34-year-old Abdiwahid Dahir Yusuf in connection with the latest incident of alleged harassment of female students at a bus stop near Portland Community College's Southeast campus.

It comes after a female student reported the fourth such incident to police on Wednesday.

"A female alleges that on Wednesday afternoon, right after getting off a bus in the 2300 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue, a male grabbed her wrist (a misdemeanor crime). The female reported that she asked the individual to let go of her and he did. She also stated that on a previous occasion, the male approached her on campus and asked if she had a boyfriend," the agency said in an email to KATU. "PPB has identified a potential suspect and East Precinct’s Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) is coordinating with Detectives, as well as PCC, on locating the individual."

Three other female students reported similar incidents involving a similarly described suspect to the campus Public Safety Office, which is not made up of sworn officers. They did not file police reports.

Campus public safety sent out an alert Thursday about the fourth incident.

"Campus Public Safety has received multiple reports of concerning behavior involving an individual who has repeatedly followed and approached students in areas immediately adjacent to campus. The behavior has included unwanted contact, unsolicited sexual comments, and attempts to corner individuals near bus stops," the alert issued at 4 p.m. reads, in part, about an alleged incident from Wednesday afternoon.

The incident was reported by the student at 1:45 p.m.

Yusuf has pending charges for allegedly sexually abusing a minor at that same bus stop on Nov. 17, 2025. The behavior listed in the charging documents mimics the same behavior described in the four incidents that were subsequently reported to campus public safety by female students at PCC.

On Nov. 18, a judge in the case set bail at $5,000, of which $500 was required for release. The man was released Dec. 5 and was required to check in with pre-trial release officers within 24 hours.

On Feb. 17, KATU asked Multnomah County whether that 24-hour requirement had been met. The Multnomah County Sheriff's office reported that it had.

On Feb. 18, a spokesperson for Multnomah County Circuit Courts noted that he had not complied with subsequent requirements and that a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The 34-year-old man is due back in court on Feb. 20.

Here’s the thing. Muslim men believe that any woman who dresses like a whore (no burka) should be treated like a whore.

Feminists should be up in arms over this.
Liberals should be up in arms over this.
Everyone should be up in arms over this.

But strangely, few people are. Or maybe it’s not so strange. After all, Muslims are at the very top of the “protected class” pyramid.

😡

Not in Portland. It’s more likely that he’ll get an apology from the mayor and the governor. But in Middle America… that just might be a different story.

The victims are afraid that they will be killed if they press charges. The muslims intimidate by murdering a few innocents because of perceived offences against Islam and the prophet. That’s how they stake their claims on societies.

Why no pics for 34-year-old Abdiwahid Dahir Yusuf? Is this another “Is it them” question for Yogi?

Somali.

The Portland Police no longer release mug shots.

I have been told (but can’t confirm) that it is because they would offend the likes of Furry with the frequency of heavily melanated arrestees.

Oregon doesn’t want to hurt their feelings:

Grok:

“ This change stems from House Bill 3273 (2021), which limits when law enforcement agencies in Oregon—including the PPB—can release booking photographs to the public. The law prohibits general public release of mugshots for people who have only been arrested (and not yet convicted), except in specific circumstances, such as:

• When there’s a clear law enforcement purpose (e.g., to help apprehend a fugitive, identify a suspect in an ongoing investigation, or prompt victims/witnesses to come forward).

• If the person has been convicted of the related crime.

• Other narrow exceptions for sharing with other agencies or for public safety reasons.

The primary reasons for this legislation, as cited by its sponsors (including State Rep. Janelle Bynum) and supporters, include:

• Protecting the privacy and safety of individuals who are presumed innocent until proven guilty, since mugshots capture people often at their lowest moments (e.g., during a mental health crisis or after arrest).

• Preventing long-term harm, as these photos can linger online indefinitely, affecting employment, housing, and reputation—even if charges are dropped, dismissed, or the person is acquitted.

• Addressing concerns from events like the 2020 protests in Portland, where released mugshots led to doxxing (public exposure of personal information), harassment, and threats against arrestees.

The PPB has publicly explained this policy shift in materials like a public service announcement (e.g., featuring Lt. Nathan Sheppard), noting that the law makes it illegal in most cases to release mugshots. Their media resources page also aligns with this by avoiding publication of names and photos in many arrest-related news releases (except where expungement or other rules apply).
This is part of a broader national trend rethinking mugshot releases in the digital age, where such images can become permanent online “clickbait” with little public benefit in routine cases. Other states and agencies have adopted similar restrictions for comparable reasons.”
