I’ve never understood why Cobain is supposed to be such an important figure.

Cause he almost single-handedly destroyed the awesomist sub-genre of music ever. 80s hair metal. It was like being at a great party until people drink too much and the mood turns and people start puking in the toilet. Music was fun, then it was depressed.

My sentiments exactly. Nirvana sucked. So did Pearl Jam. God awful musicians. But people bought it.
