Elite Betrayal of the British People
American Thinker ^ | 17 Feb, 2026 | Lars Møller

The self-destruction of Britain: New Labour’s quiet revolution, deep state resistance to democracy, and transethnic buildup to civil war.

The British historian David Starkey has long maintained that Tony Blair’s assumption of power in 1997 marked an all-encompassing upheaval of British society. Nothing, he argues, is the same as before. The old Britain has been uprooted; its legal system and top management have been comprehensively remade. Where once a relatively homogeneous nation allowed its citizens to “govern themselves,” in Starkey’s memorable phrase, today they stand profoundly alienated from their government, police, and courts.

SNIP

Eight governments in a row have methodically restricted the British people’s ancient freedoms, above all freedom of expression. Speech codes, hate-crime legislation, and online regulation have created a climate of fear in which candid discussion of demographic change or cultural incompatibility is treated as “extremism.” It is as though the state itself is engaged in a conscious project to bury Britain as a nation that has any right to exist on its own historic terms.

The political elite has betrayed the British people. State institutions are riddled with corruption, including Islamist infiltration. The total collapse of society and outright civil war no longer seem remote possibilities; they feel like logical culminations of laissez-faire and incompetence.

The mechanisms of this betrayal are now clear. Thirty years of misgovernment have permitted a deeply politicized civil service to entrench itself. This “deep state,” in natural alliance with an academy that serves as its ideological nursery, meets any assertion of popular will—including the demand for zero net immigration—with bureaucratic obstruction, legal sabotage, and moral condemnation. The people’s preferences are treated, not as sovereign commands but as regrettable atavisms to be managed, diluted or ignored.

If there is a civil war it will be a mess. If there isn’t one it will be worse.

Failure to keep Matthew 25:40 is why Britain is where it is today. 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

The elites decided to not care about the welfare of the weakest in Britain over personal profits and power. The completely rationalized their actions in regards to it.

A nice summary.

It’s the same here, different structures (Federal judges/NGOs here vs permanent civil service there), with the same result - that the Executive here or the Government of the Day there lacks the power (NOT the authority, which remains), but the POWER to do the will of the people.

The British people have betrayed themselves if they sit back and allow globalists to prevail.

Hopefully the Brits will rise up and kick the living excrement out of their blessed country. Come on, Brits, you have it in you. You have it in you to make sure that Islam is not there. War with Islam is inevitable anyway.

The Labor party destroyed the land holding nobility. In so doing they exterminated the governing force that created the British Empire.

What is left is incapable of maintaining what was for centauries a great nation. The riff raff gained control and have killed the national living force

“If there is a civil war it will be a mess.”

Conservative Brits might simply relocate to say post-Communist Cuba.

I watched “The Crown” a few months back.

One episode showed Irish in Northern Ireland being massively irate.

If the Irish don’t fancy Scots among them then the Asian parasites might eventually wish to move elsewhere.

The biggest criticism that I have of articles about the UK in the conservative press is that they claim that all these authoritarian policies were implemented by Labour. Wrong. Labour is the prime perpetrator but the entire political establishment in the UK went along with it, including the “Conservative” Party. The Malicious Communications Act was passed in 1988 under (I hate to say it), the Thatcher government. It was expanded in 2003 under “New Labour” Tony Blair. The Conservatives were in charge from 2010 though 2024 - 14 years. They did nothing to rein in these laws and there were anti-free speech prosecutions under them. Not nearly as many as under Starmer but it all laid the groundwork for Starmer’s authoritarian overdrive.

This is a global problem. It appears those in the public that care are outnumbered by those that either don’t care, or support it.

yes, the Labour party led the sell-out of UK .. but had some Conservative party elite support along the way. Similar to USA where the Democrappic Party’s central committee and party finances were infiltrated, purchased, and taken over by a small group of foreign and domestic enemies of America....and proceeded to lead the charge to undermine and sell out USA ....with some supposedly conservative Republican party support, co-conspirators along the way. The Islamicization of America lags that of UK by just a few years ... but may well catch up...and both once-great nations will be dragged into servitude.

International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

Article 18
....
4. The States Parties to the present Covenant undertake to have respect for the liberty of parents and, when applicable, legal guardians to ensure the religious and moral education of their children in conformity with their own convictions.

Article 19
1. Everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference.
2. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice.
3. The exercise of the rights provided for in paragraph 2 of this article carries with it special duties and responsibilities. It may therefore be subject to certain restrictions, but these shall only be such as are provided by law and are necessary:
(a) For respect of the rights or reputations of others;
(b) For the protection of national security or of public order (ordre public), or of public health or morals.

Article 20
1. Any propaganda for war shall be prohibited by law.
2. Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.

Article 23
1. The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.

Article 20, clause 2 is why the UK censors/punishes people.

The US is a state party to the Covenant too. What is being done in the UK could happen here.

Lindsey Graham, Nikki Haley could be punished under clause 1.

“If there is a civil war it will be a mess.”

There is a possibility of simply targeting the $50 trillion stock market by outcompeting the major companies.

Jews were viciously targeted for discrimination in the early 20th Century but founded companies and businesses that thrived.

White males can craft new companies.
