Two-time national curling champion Rich Ruohonen said he's proud to represent the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, even though "it's been tough" in his home state of Minnesota.
"I'm a lawyer there. I've been for 28 years, and a lot of tragedy, a lot of difficulties. And, you know, we want to focus on the Games, but at the same time, what's going on there is wrong," Ruohonen told CBS News when asked how it is being at the Olympics and thinking about the news that has been coming out of his home state.

What’s wrong is $10 billion being stolen by your state’s democrat-migrant-grift-industrial complex.
A friggin’ shylster lawyer curler. You just can’t get any more doofus that that. The slob is a jackass.
Shut up and use your broom.
He’s a jerk that wears a Mr. Michelin Man curling suit. His other suit is probably a Ghillie suit or a Trojan condom.
It never fails. Some athlete or actor or other class of court jester gets a little fame and they immediately swerve out of their lane. It must be a law of physics or something.
What is it with entertainers of all types? Why do they feel the need to preach to the rest of us?
They should be more like the guy who cuts my grass. When he comes over to do lawn work, that’s all he does. He refrains from telling me his opinion on the tax code, or anything else.
S#!t like this is why the Olympics are dead to me.
I blame the press for asking stupid questions. Granted, the curler has an opinion—one I don’t agree with, but that’s his choice to be wrong. CBS is only asking the retarded questions to make Trump administration look bad.
I'm sure he just fabulous at shuffleboard, and excels at "cornhole" too.
Try as I might, there is NO OTHER MOTIVAION !
Come on, Bari Weiss..get off your ass.
Rights aren’t “followed”.
The lawyer is a nincompoop.
That’s true.
Same for me, and for Harveywood as well.
Just like every other libtard.
Aw, give him a break; he was up all night writing torts (h/t Nero Wolfe).
We will probably never know his opinion. The journalists ask the questions and he gives them the answers that they want to hear and they will leave him alone. If he said what he really thought they would ask for clarification and explanation and then write the headlines and articles accordingly.
Deep Detective Fiction reference…. Oh my!
Stealing tax payers money is a democratic right.
Allowing illegal immigrants free access to all entitlements is a democratic right
Attacking and attempting to murder police is a democratic right
So as you can see from his point of view he is right
A better answer would be “I’m here at the olympics to compete.
I am the world’s number one authority of my own opinion but for now, I’m keeping that to myself. If you have any questions about curling, that’s what we’re discussing today. If not, I have to go practice for my match.”
