Olympic medal count: How many gold medals has Team USA won?

While the United States isn't leading in the medal count, Team USA is looking golden at this year's Winter Olympic Games.

Team USA has won seven medals so far and two of them are gold. The American team is tied for third place with Japan for total medals.

Breezy Johnson won gold in women's downhill skiing on Sunday, becoming only the second American woman to accomplish the feat. It was the first Olympic medal of her career, and the first gold medal for Team USA at this year's Winter Games. She tearfully stood at the podium to accept her gold, afterwards saying, "it doesn’t feel real yet."

Team USA's second medal came on Sunday after a nail-biting figure skating team event. Ilia Manlin, also known as the "Quad god" stepped onto the ice with the gold medal hinging on his performance. The breakout star delivered, earning Team USA enough points to defeat Japan.

Norway currently leads in the gold count, with six gold medals for the winter sports powerhouse. They are tied with the host nation, Italy, for 11 total medals so far.

And yet the U.S. has hosted the Winter Olympics four times — more than any other country. Salt Lake City will be #5 in 2034.

They call them Gold Medals but they are mostly Silver plated with Gold.

At this point, they should do a rotation—obviously Salt Lake City is going to make the cut. Plus one in Europe (maybe Switzerland). Then Russia and Japan.

No one I know even knew the winter olympics were going on. We are all surprised, hadn’t heard a thing. It must be the least advertised one in history. Maybe they’re trying to kill it off. Those trans/queer games get more attention nowadays. So do the para-olympics.

Yawn, you couldn't pry me away from the TV come the Olympics 30 years ago, Winter and Summer games. I haven't watched one second of this one. Maybe I will catch the USA men's Hockey team if they advance to the medal round. A few (probably more than a few) woke retarded little pampered POS who can't keep from opening their yaps on issues having nothing to do with their sport is a one of the reason why.

More likely it'll be USA vs Canada for the Gold Cup.
