CORNELL – A woman from Cornell was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on multiple felony charges related to resisting, obstructing and assaulting a Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper during an animal neglect investigation.
Brianna Makosky, 22, was arraigned in the 94th District Court on Thursday on three felony counts of resisting, obstructing and assaulting a police officer. Her bond was set at $4,000 cash/surety.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday in Cornell. According to a news release, the MSP Gladstone Post received a report of alleged animal neglect on Tuesday.
After an initial investigation, authorities obtained a search warrant for a property on County Road 426 in Cornell Township.
Troopers executed a search warrant at the residence Wednesday afternoon and found several deceased animals, including cats, rabbits, pigs and goats. Live animals were also located in malnourished and unhealthy conditions.
14 cats, 12 rabbits and one sheep were seized and removed from the property. MSP was assisted by Delta Animal Shelter in this process.
Police said at the scene, Makosky resisted and obstructed troopers and refused to comply with lawful orders while investigators were conducting the search.
A news release on the incident stated, “The woman then bit one of the troopers on the wrist. She was informed that she was under arrest, and she continued to fight with the troopers, including attempting to bite another trooper.”
She was subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Delta County Jail Wednesday at approximately 4:06 p.m. where she remains as of Friday morning.
The animal neglect investigation remains ongoing and will be submitted to the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office for review once complete.
Makosky is set to appear in court again on Thursday, Feb. 19. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
That’s one ugly dude.
Why not? He’s said he’d “hit” a lot of women over the years.
“”No, not that Cornell.””
No reason NOT to think that’s what it meant - except when you get a look at the “person”, you know it couldn’t be THE CORNELL...some kooks - mainly kooks there - but none that look that bad, I hope!
Who let the dogs out?
They should check her medical records and if she is not up to date on her vaccinations, that should be corrected as soon as possible. Especially female distemper.

Animals are not "deceased."
The article should have instead referred to the "carcasses of dead animals."
Regards,
For the safety of the trooper, Brianna Makosky needs to be tested for rabies!!
You can get the same effect from drinking 2 six-packs.
She looks hungry.
“Another misuse of AI.”
Nah, nothing wrong with “woulda coulda shoulda” ideas.
Illustrates what I mean. We argue and opine over many issues, events, images. How much of those issues, events and images are misrepresented?
A great way for me to stop or not start an argument is to determine what exactly I am going to use for my facts. I tell the other party to do the same. Once we both determine the fact that we really know very little for sure, the argument stops.
Even Laz has his standards.
What kind of animal is that on her head?
It’s not her fault- Mike Tyson said to ‘eat more meat’. She musta watched his fight against Evander Holyfield
besides, poor thing looks half-starved to death
When it said mugshot I never thought it would be of the neglected animal.
I rescued a Ragdoll cat who was in a hoarding/dog farm situation.
100 dogs, 20 cats and 4 goats - all in cages in an old lady’s basement in NC. I think she was breeding and selling them. My cat was less than a yr old but had already been bred. 😢
,,, she’d be better off shaving her butt and walking backwards.
