CORNELL – A woman from Cornell was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on multiple felony charges related to resisting, obstructing and assaulting a Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper during an animal neglect investigation.
Brianna Makosky, 22, was arraigned in the 94th District Court on Thursday on three felony counts of resisting, obstructing and assaulting a police officer. Her bond was set at $4,000 cash/surety.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday in Cornell. According to a news release, the MSP Gladstone Post received a report of alleged animal neglect on Tuesday.
After an initial investigation, authorities obtained a search warrant for a property on County Road 426 in Cornell Township.
Troopers executed a search warrant at the residence Wednesday afternoon and found several deceased animals, including cats, rabbits, pigs and goats. Live animals were also located in malnourished and unhealthy conditions.
14 cats, 12 rabbits and one sheep were seized and removed from the property. MSP was assisted by Delta Animal Shelter in this process.
Police said at the scene, Makosky resisted and obstructed troopers and refused to comply with lawful orders while investigators were conducting the search.
A news release on the incident stated, “The woman then bit one of the troopers on the wrist. She was informed that she was under arrest, and she continued to fight with the troopers, including attempting to bite another trooper.”
She was subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Delta County Jail Wednesday at approximately 4:06 p.m. where she remains as of Friday morning.
The animal neglect investigation remains ongoing and will be submitted to the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office for review once complete.
Makosky is set to appear in court again on Thursday, Feb. 19. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

It’s hard to believe anyone could get that ugly in only 22 years.
She looks like she’s been eating those animals and tried to snack on the trooper.
Should we page Laz?
Rage eating
I’m just glad I’m not down wind of her.
No, not that Cornell.
Hope the cop was current on his tetanus/rabies/TDS shots.
“It’s hard to believe anyone could get that ugly in only 22 years.”
Hard to believe and so very sad. You are given one life to live and so many people throw it away.
LOL
That’s the bitter truth.
Cornell, Michigan is on upper peninsula of Michigan. Farmland and nature. Good place to quietly go coo-coo.
I’d hit that.
Oh Yeah, nothing like ‘em. “A news release on the incident stated, “The woman then bit one of the troopers on the wrist. She was informed that she was under arrest, and she continued to fight with the troopers, including attempting to bite another trooper.”
Your highly edited pic makes one wonder about all the artificially derived fakeness in the world and in the media.
Hope they checked the trooper for rabies...
With a car door.
Speaking of digital "enhancements," did you see how CNN and Netflix edited the Pretti photo?
