The Super Bowl hasn’t even kicked off yet, but the halftime show is already a fumble in the eyes of over 100,000 disgruntled fans.
A viral petition demanding the NFL ditch Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny in favor of country legend George Strait has gained a lot of internet interest, racking up more than 122,000 signatures as of Tuesday morning.
The petition, started in October 2025 by Kar Shell, argues that Strait — the Texas-born country music icon with more than 60 No. 1 hits and decades of chart-topping success — better represents “American music’s rich heritage” and would be more appealing to a broad, cross-generational audience.
“The Super Bowl halftime show should unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family-friendly, not be turned into a political stunt,” the petition reads. “Bad Bunny represents none of these values; his drag performances and style are the opposite of what families expect on football’s biggest stage.”
On Sunday, Bad Bunny took to the Grammys stage to accept an award for Best Música Urbana Album and used the platform to deliver a blunt “ICE Out” message.

For sure, the NFL has been anti American in many ways. I won’t be watching, who cares, WHO IS BAD BUNNY?
The NFL is a successful and very lucrative business. Yet they do the best they can to ruin it. BLM, kneeling, and now Bad Bunny.
I wonder what’s next. Many fans are hunters or target shooters. Maybe the NFL will denounce them.

The NFL was struggling until Rotisserie leagues came about. Now with the explosion of online gambling, they have hit new heights. Nobody gives a crap about the actual product. It’s all about gambling on every play. I think gambling ads along with drug commercials should be against the law, if tobacco ads are. And that Kars for Kids scam.
just one more reason NOT to watch the superbowl this year, the main one being that i want BOTH teams to lose this year ...

He knows his audience. Even here, on Free Republic of all places, there are still those who support the NFL after they spit in the faces of all Americans, kneeling in solidarity with Communist organizations like Black Lives MatterTM and calling white Americans racist.
Complaining about the half-time irritainment is negotiating with someone who screams in your face that they hate you. "Could you please change the costumes of those who are spitting on me?"
These petitions are retarded…. Goodell , as rich and powerful as he is ,is just a pawn. Bad Bunny will sing, it will be horrible and the media will lie about his “record breaking” performance.
