Many years of drug abuse and he still made it to 83 y/o. That is a real tribute to the strength of the human body.

Condolences to Chuck Negron’s family and friends. As a youngster they were the first group I ever saw at a large venue (Cobo Hall).

he was interviewed about the “WONDERLAND MURDERS” in 1981, along with the porn star John Holmes, where 4 people were battered and murdered in a drug house in 1981. He was a regular customer to that house and was there the day before the crime took place. For what its worth.

I remember seeing Three Dog Night on some musical variety show as a kid, and commenting to my mother that Negron had “Hair like Jesus”.

He was featured on a segment of the youtube channel Professor of Rock last week. I’ve always thought that his hair and mustache were the stereotypical look of a 60’s rock star.

Didn’t he find Jesus a few years ago? I loved 3 Dog.

They had something like 11 top 10 singles and 20 top 40. Didn’t write 1. They were geniuses at taking obscure songs and arranging them into hits.

He was the same age as Jimi and Janis when they died.

Three Dog Night was the evening entertainment with an outdoor concert closing the welcome reception of the 2016 Republican National Convention. They performed in the band shell adjacent to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on the shore of Lake Erie. Awesome concert. We were singing along to their closer “Joy to the World” as we walked back to our buses.

if you haven’t read Negron’s autobiography “Three Dog Nightmare’ its worth a read...harrowing and entertaining, he had quite a life.

🔝🔝🔝

Thank you for the music Chuck Negron

I was fortunate enough to see Three Dog Night perform in 1983

Everyone was there except for Joe Schermie - apparently he left in 1973

In 1984 I got to shake hands with Cory Wells during a
performance and spoke briefly with Jimmy Greenspoon afterwards.

I’ve gotten a picture with the current lead singer David a couple of times.

Danny Hutton went by but looked like he just wanted to get back to his hotel room. 😔

Show is still fun.

3DN album Harmony was the first album I ever owned. I wore that thing out. My band plays “Never Been to Spain” every now and then.

I've previously looked into that. Unfortunately, I've never seen it under $125 or so. Maybe with his death, someone will put it on Kindle.

In his “Top Acts of the 1970s” countdown in 1975, Casey Kasem had them at #3, behind the Carpenters and Jackson 5, but ahead of Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Wings, Elton John, and Jim Croce. Elite company.

Shortly after 4 Dog Night fell into near oblivion.
