At the end of this year, Gov. DeSantis will be term-limited out of his job. What better way to spend his time than by traveling the country, promoting a Balanced Budget Amendment using Article V? He wouldn’t be running against Vance, or Rubio, or Newsom or any Democrat. He’d be running against Congress.
If we get five more states, for a total of 32, Congress may propose an amendment itself.

Keep your eye on him to replace Pam Bondi as AG, if she continues to drag her feet on prosecutions of the deep state and mishandling the messaging on deportations.
She botched the Epstein situation and hasn’t been nearly aggressive enough to combat the deep state.
DeSantis is a lawyer; he’s run Florida effectively and will be out of a job in a few months.
Start in the spring. Offer to challenge any wannabe POTUS on the left to a debate-one subject at a time. See who WON’T take him up on his offer. Airheads like AOC would be more exposed. You know Kamala and Walz would decline. How about Mandami? He’s their new up and comer. Offer to debate hairgel in the lions den of MS. The idea is to expose the phoniness while the country is in turmoil. Summer riots would be another good time.
Come to think of it there are few elected on the left to be taken seriously. Should this not happen call them cowards in front of the cameras.
The senate seems like a good fit. Senator DeSantis (R-FL).

That’s an interesting idea. The Dems will likely control the House and Trump’s AG will certainly be front and center in their beltway theater productions.
If DeSantis is looking burnish his populist credentials like Rubio has done I doubt there is a better option for him as a termed out gov.

It's easier to amend a state constitution than it is to amend the federal Constitution. So DeSantis might have been running for third governor term by this time if he had planned ahead and gotten rid of Florida's term limit for governor in his first two terms.
The BIG problem with DeSantises' politically correct balanced budget amendment for federal constitution is that it sidesteps the BIG problem of unconstitutional federal government taxes and spending with respect to Congress's now ignored constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
Or is DeSantis really politicking for Balanced Budget Amendment to get himself into Oval Office so he can continue uniparty unconstitutional federal taxing and spending?
Speaking of amendments to constitutions, the new Trump-supporting Congress that patriots give him in 2026 elections needs to support Trump in successfully leading the states to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th Amendments, popular voting for federal senators.

He probably would be excellent but Trump can’t get anyone but useless milk toasts approved by our worthless Senate.

That’s what I heard. Only trouble is that he’s in office through November, and we can’t have Bondi as AG 10 more months.
His motives were questionable at best, the optics were terrible, and the trust for the guy was lost forever.

I agree. I think DeSantis has similar tenacity that Trump has (doesn’t cower to intense Gaystapo bullying) with a family-man background that Trump lacks. Not downplaying Pres. Trump at all, it is what it is and Trump has been our bulwark against total lib insanity.
Tillis, Cassidy, Collins and Murkowski won't vote in favor so that's 49.
Tillis and Cassidy are both lame duck so they'll probably deny DeSantis just to spite Trump.

Unlike the Democrats, we have an actual primary process, not a coronation.
Article V. The Convention of States. The Founders knew that in spite of their best efforts power would tend to centralize into the District of Corruption. So they put in a peaceful process for change.
When it was really needed, like the issue of slavery , both sides were afraid the other would win. War settled the matter and the Constitution got amended that way instead.
How about we skip another bloody Republican-Democrat War this time around and actually use Article V?
It’s more likely Trump doesn’t vote for him as his AG. I’m not sure if Trump wants to share the stage with DeSantis in his lame duck WH years and really help boost DeSantis’ profile.
The dude’s for trashing our First Amendment rights to stop any criticism of Israel. He has completely disqualified himself from further office.
He'll probably prefers Rubio or Vance as his successor.
But if he wants an effective AG, Ken Paxson and Ron DeSantis are his best bets.
For all intents and purposes, running against Trump in 2023-24 was the equivalent of running against an incumbent President in your own party. DeSantis had every right to do that, but he must also face the consequences of running an awful campaign and looking like a jackass in the process.
