Bill Belichick won’t have “first ballot Hall of Famer” on his resume. If you’re shocked by this fact, you’re not alone.
The NFL world was baffled by the news reported by ESPN on Tuesday evening that Belichick, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach with the Patriots, was not elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on his first appearance on the ballot.
Belichick fell short of the requisite 40 votes of 50 votes from the voting committee — made up of at least one media representative from each football city and other at-large members — needed to gain entry.

I guess he was the wrong color for DEI awards.
He isn’t really retired.
Maybe people think he will come back to the NFL in the near future
-49 points for his girlfriend age differential.
You mean Bill Belicheat? He doesn’t belong in the HOF.
He was briefly on the sidelines for the Indiana/Miami National championship game. He looked really old, but not quite as old as Joe Burden. I guess that’s because of the age difference with a fiancée or wife.
Marv Levy was elected to the Hall of Fame for taking a Bills team to the Super Bowl four straight years which had five to six Hall of Fame players on it. Don’t get me wrong, I love Marv Levy, and as a Buffalo guy, I have very little love for Bill Belichick. But if Marv Levy is the yardstick, Belichick belongs in Canton
I don’t really care what award some Obama sycophant did or didn’t win. This is not important at all.
Maybe having (arguably) the greatest QB of all time can be considered a factor in one’s coaching ability?
His success started and ended with a guy named Tom Brady.
Ray Lewis was a first-ballot Hall of Famer, officially elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February 2018 in his first year of eligibility
Belichik wasn’t a murderer, he just coached one.
Needs his girl friend to sort things out with the committee. I am sure she’s up to it.
Well, he was the guy who took a chance with a sixth round quarterback when he had a perfectly serviceable quarterback at the time. Well serviceable except for the cheap shot injury received at the hands of Mo Lewis. But it was by no means the perception in the football world that Tom Brady was destined to become the greatest QB of all time. For that decision alone, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
Lol stop embarrassing urself😂😂😂😂
Was Brady on the Giants? I don’t recall.
And Bill drafted TB. So, there is that.
Maybe his girlfriend told them, “No, we’re not doing that.”
He was a Trump supporter. See if it happens with Brady as well.
I’ve Got a Tiger by the Tail.
You’re right. He can’t get in the hall of fame AND have a young attractive girlfriend.
