Maybe having (arguably) the greatest QB of all time can be considered a factor in one’s coaching ability?

Well, he was the guy who took a chance with a sixth round quarterback when he had a perfectly serviceable quarterback at the time. Well serviceable except for the cheap shot injury received at the hands of Mo Lewis. But it was by no means the perception in the football world that Tom Brady was destined to become the greatest QB of all time. For that decision alone, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
