Minnesota Shows Why the Left Will Win America’s 2026 Civil War
American Thinker ^ | 26 Jan, 2026 | Vince Coyner

The saddest thing about this is that the Republicans will work with the left to ensure their victory.

The United States is facing an existential threat. My guess is this summer will be the most violent, damaging domestic summer since the Civil War. And I predict the left will win and come out victorious on the other side. They will, after winning this new civil war, seek to eliminate the last vestiges of republicans.

I use a small r because while some Republicans are true republicans, most are not. And when the left wins the war, those RINOs are going to “work with” Democrats to create the illusion that America is still a republic, but it won’t be. They will use every tool available to silence dissent, take control over virtually every sector of American life, and they will implement rules so that America becomes a one-party nation.

Now I say all of this with the great hope that I am wrong, but I don’t think I will be.

The cowardly Republicans are going to cave in every conceivable manner in order to try to forestall a civil war. At every level, they are going to give in to the left, they are going to “compromise” their principles, and they are going to betray their voters and our Founding Fathers.

And I mean that at every level in every branch. There is simply no universe where Republicans have the intestinal fortitude to do what’s right in the face of withering attacks from the left.

There is literally no better example of this than election integrity. Nothing animates GOP voters like election integrity. Not abortion. Not welfare fraud. Not guns. (A majority of Democrats support it as well!) Literally nothing gets rank-and-file Republicans more animated in 2026 than elections

Parasites always stupidly kill their host

Which is why the Left and the Democrat/Communist/Jihadist Party are so accurately self-described as "progressive."

Just like the "progressive" disease of cancer, the "progressive" movement metasticizes into healthy parts of the country and, unless it is removed and destroyed, will ultimately kill the host.

That usually takes 1,000 to 2,000 years.

Faster now due to technology.

The fact that our country has been steadily moving to the Left for as long as I can remember suggests that he is right. Conservatives just don’t fight hard enough
>

I mean, the “problem” is right there in their name, no: CONSERV(e)atives

What are they ‘conserving’, but the status quo? They sure aren’t Constitutionalists (just passed another $1.xT+ deficit busting spending bill w/ near zero authority in 95%+ of the arenas touched via said ‘law’)

Hell, “small govt” hasn’t passed from their lips since ‘16. In fact, I haven’t heard much of ANYTHING from the (R)N(C) “leadership” since Johnson & co. came out & patted themselves on the back for NOT shrinking govt.

Gonna need a list of all this supposed ‘progress’

It takes a year for organized opposition to start their riot games, and this namby-pamby milquetoast wants to throw in the towel.

‘Strange’, in that it didn’t take a year for the Left to get their organized opposition started. Hell, they have been HIGHLY organized vs. (MN) ICE alone.

Course, the (R)N(C), being merely controlled opposition, would make any real counter to the Left’s Civil War even more difficult.

And if any leftist Antifa civil war types come around here they will get a belly full of lead.

Sadly, my FRiend, the civil war types are already past the door. Look to the advances in California and New York. No one is stopping the Democrat/Communist takeover.

The violence of Minnesota, a secessionist dream, should have been quelled early on, but it has not.

The Civil War II is underway, and the disparate, clueless patriots are beyond 'underwater.'

Those with a belly full of lead are, alas, secure in their pantries with unopened boxes of bullets.

Not buying it. Try again. As a side note, the protestors in Minnesota are a small minority. Unfortunately, they get the press despite all of the good things Trump has and is doing.

In Minnesota and other places Good people just stood around with their fingers up their ass while people who hate America and want to destroy it were aided and abetted by the Democrat Political Party and the main stream media [both of whom hate America and want it destroyed] established a toe hold, then a foot hold. The foot hold gave birth and grew tentacles and spread its poison Nationwide Minnesota is now reaping the fruits of the Democrat Party's labor. And soon the other products of the Democrat Party's art will themselves be ready for reaping. They harvest will be bitter indeed.

I think we are in for a deeper crash, like the one where we entered the Dark Ages. The world appears to have gone insane.

100% BS.

Unlike last time, we’re not standing down. Less than a day ago the left’s Signal chat was cracked and revealed deep MN Dem leadership of insurrection.

I’ll give him this, it’s definitely the same playbook and the left wants the same result. It would help if people nominally on the side of reason like this didn’t fight for the other team so vigorously…

The writer is spot on. We have been under attack since the days following the 2004 election, when MoveOn.org openly declared the democrat party was theirs now, and their subversive agenda was there for all to see. He gives a good chronology of the development of the hostile forces at work since then. And he is right to place the blame on the weasels of the GOP.

One should add Thune’s last act of betrayal when he gave Schumer 200+ judges seats en masse, receiving nothing for the country in return. All those district judges who are routinely being overturned by circuit courts now, will sooner or later be promoted to the circuit courts themselves, and the judicial game will be over.

I believe Trump is doing everything he can but he is driven by the knowledge that he has only so much time, and so much to repair, and he can’t do it all by himself. I agree one thing he can and should do yesterday is activate the insurrection act. Minneapolis is in open rebellion. What more needs to happen to see this fact, and respond decisively?

What technology survived the fall of Rome? I think we are getting ready to do a deep collapse, world wide.

“And I mean that at every level in every branch.”

I don’t believe this about the executive branch for a second.

How do we win a war against a crowd of illegal aliens, unemployed low IQ leftists, and DemocRAT politicians whose careers and fortunes depend on votes by the aforementioned dregs of society? Either we say “NO!!” and mean it - even if it means making them regret every violent action by any means possible...or giving up and allowing us to become Ameristan.

Because this war will NOT be won any time soon.

"Any time soon" could be as quick as November 2026, and as slowly as the next Federal shut down.

We have been hamstrung by Clinton, Sotero, and Biden justices, and no one will stop them in their destruction.

“And they refuse to become teachers because most of them think it’s beneath them, so the Leftists start the brainwashing in kindergarten.”

I don’t think that’s true at all. The left has taken over the education of teachers and administrators cater to the liberal teachers. Conservative teachers feel on the fringe and end up leaving teaching.

I got my teaching certificate in Texas. You’d be surprised how liberal the education department in the university was. It was all about how wonderful diversity was. Very little actually teaching was taught. Then the administrators at my jobs were very liberal, they didn’t care if a teacher was confident, but they had to have the same point of view. Of my five conservative friends I graduated with, all of us left teaching within two years. It’s not worth it

Not even DOJ, FBI, State Department and all of the Intel Agencies?

I am not hopeful about how this ends.

Trump’s recent tweet was weak, asking Walz and Mayor to do stuff.

Bondi on Fox this weekend pulled out her fake scoldy voice and demeanor announcing her “sternly worded letter”.

It’s almost like they are... never mind. Trump should have a sit-down with Rudy Giuliani about “broken windows”.
