U.S. — Tragedy unfolded at a sporting event over the weekend, as a professional athlete was struck by lightning after unexcusably failing to thank Jesus Christ for giving his team the victory in the game.
The traumatic incident occurred following the Los Angeles Rams' playoff win over the Chicago Bears, as Rams second-string longsnapper Garrett Drift met with the media during the team's postgame press conference.
"It was a hard-fought win, I'm glad we were able to pull it off," Drift began when asked by a journalist about the game. "We really pulled together as a team, we focused on executing and doing our jobs, and we came out with the victory."
Drift, an outspoken Christian, concluded his brief remarks to the press without giving credit to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the win, committing an egregious error that witnesses said was immediately met with divine judgment.
"As soon as he finished his statement, a bolt of lightning shot down and fried him," said one journalist who was present at the press conference. "It was instantaneous. But, I mean, what else did he expect? He didn't thank Jesus for the victory. That's a major no-no. If he regains consciousness, he'll have learned a very meaningful lesson."
At publishing time, Drift was in stable condition at a nearby hospital, where friends and family were hoping he'd remember to thank Jesus for bringing him out of his coma as soon as he woke up.

That’ll teach him!
Nothing Ten Hail Mary’s and Ten Our Fathers can’t fix. ;)
It would have been better if the Rams’ old long snapper, Alex Ward parayed, or was even struck by lightning, as he was a contributing factor to blocked kicks earlier this season until he was fired.
I don’t know if the Rams’ current long snapper, Jake McQuaide, is particularly religious. He’s been okay, in getting a fairly easy half-mil a year.
I’m waiting for someone to blame Jesus when they lose.
HA!!LOL!
Why does Jesus hate the Lions?
Ahh yes, must be because of the Romans.
And the Broncos. And before that, the Bucs.
The huddled christians in the arena I suppose. And we pay for it to this day. :)
That and Bobby Layne.
Rare, but The Bee fooled me too.
“I don’t think the heavy stuff will come down for a while. “
You forgot the Act of Contrition’s that go with them.
Why do they call it ‘golf’?
“Why does God love Miami but not Notre Dame?”
No. I shovel my neighbor’s driveway. So they’ve got that going for them.
The Texan’s C.J.Stroud held a payer circle after the devastating loss to the Patriot. Texans and Patriots knelt down together.
