The Prayer Trend in NFL That Networks Keep Ignoring
Real Clear Politics ^

Posted on 01/22/2026 7:26:15 AM PST by DIRTYSECRET

It happens almost every week, in almost every stadium. If you blink you’ll miss it. The sight of several young, wealthy, influential men bowing in submission to a higher power is a glitch in the matrix. It doesn’t fit the script.

It is a glaring disconnect between the reality of the players and the media covering them.

It’s time we turned the cameras back on, and if the networks don’t, the players will do it for them.

I love this. Post game interviews making the reporters and networks uncomfortable with their praise of the lord. Super Bowl-all it takes is one player on each team walking up to the 50 yard line and kneeling 10 seconds before kickoff. Watch teammates follow. What will the cameras do?

Networks couldn't get enough of Kapernick kneeling and giving up valuable commercial time.

The 49ers players have prayer circle after the game on the field, sometimes joined by players or coaches from the other team. You used to occasionally be able to see it, but maybe they sent notes to the crew not to show it anymore. The media sure hates the 49ers quarterback.

I don’t even go to church but we’re given too much of BS on every game. Those sideline ‘reporters’ are a joke-more bs. Don’t forget Lift Up And Sing. I say make them afraid to do the interviews. The players who believe won’t back down. Then they’ll have to go out of their way to avoid them. It’s that time of year.

Matthew 6:5-6

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

The media never tells the truth about Kaepernick. When came into Lee he was a very positive very devout Christian man. After his third year they inexplicably fired his coach, then before the season the team’s GM and owner got Dion Sanders to go on television and spout absolute lies about him. That’s when he went on his villain arc, as the kids say.

It’s not ignored, it’s purposely discouraged.

I’m sure if they rolled out a prayer rug the nfl would be all about it.

You’ll see it after most ESPN games. But they send the pre/ post game crew to the game so the post game happens on the field. Everybody else cuts to the studio for the post game. It’s really not some conspiracy, just which camera are on.

I thought it was a girlfriend that turned Kaepernick, and radicalized him.

The press loves Purdy. Mr Irrelevant turned started, playoff runs. If the Niners could stop having major injuries every year Mr Irrelevant could be a Super Bowl MVP, the press loves a story like that.

Niners need to fire their strength and conditioning coach.

Yeah, the whole training staff. A one season injury bug is one thing, but this has been going on since before the pandemic.

The press loves Purdy? What are you smoking? 95% of the press says he’s a terrible quarterback that shouldn’t even be a third stringer. Even the 49ers coaches best friend is constantly bashing him. I’m not sure how much longer he can stay in the league with this media attention. And the team doesn’t really support him. There are exceptions like Kurt Warner. Even the local media is like that.

Not any of the press I’m seeing. They all love him. Local media are nuts for all sports. Ignore them. He’s the starter, that’s all the support the team needs to give him... well and better trainers so he can keep his starting target on the field.

Makes me also wonder about the playing field at the Niners home stadium.

It is also written that the religious leaders did in public after they took away the widows property to cover up their thievery. The players are doing it to provide a witness of God to the public; nothing wrong with that.

You are right. How will they turn the cameras if the ‘impromptu’ kneeling is started seconds before the kickoff drumroll?
