Well…they say they’re GOP senators. I think that’s their only criteria

In a properly operating republic, the House Republicans would shut down the government until this bill passed the Senate.

The usual toxic waste from the landfill: Murkowski, Collins, Tillis, etc. And the recently cantankerous Rand Paul, who has taken some weird stances lately.

The only thing that should happen with the filibuster, is to make them actually stand there and make the speech. None of this just saying that I’m filibustering.

Conservatism is a scarcity of government intrusion into life.

The filibuster is an obstacle to government intrusion into life. It should be kept into place because it makes it difficult to pass laws. That makes it a conservative feature of government.

Were it not for the filibuster, we would have lost a great many freedoms during periods of time of democrat presidents and Democrat congress. They also had senators who refused to undo it. Will they again? Probably. They probably will have their own array the senators who refused to undo it, and for the same reason.

Why do the Republicans not enforce the filibuster? During the shutdown, the Democrats should have been made to hold the floor speaking constantly for a thousand hours. No nights off, no weekends, no holidays and no vacations. Once the older members started dropping and having to be hauled off on stretchers, then maybe the filibuster would have broken. Instead the Republicans submissively urinate like my neighbor’s scared Pomeranian when the Democrats say the word filibuster.

The filibuster prevents the Democrats from destroying what’s left of our country. It’s not worth removing it to get one bill past.

Of course. You always default to Randall, who is in agreement with the worst of the Republican party. No need to reply.
