Fired CNN anchor Don Lemon may face a federal investigation for joining a mob of protesters who swarmed a Sunday church service in Minnesota.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon warned Lemon on Monday that his antics could land him in hot water, and said the independent journalist is 'on notice.'
Lemon sparked outrage over the weekend as he joined an anti-Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest targeting a service in St Paul. He was seen in footage berating a pastor and telling him it was his 'First Amendment right' to storm the church.
Dhillon took to X to warn Lemon his justification was misguided, as she posted: 'A house of worship is not a public forum for your protest!
'It is a space protected from exactly such acts by federal criminal and civil laws! Nor does the First Amendment protect your pseudo journalism of disrupting a prayer service... You are on notice!'
In another social media post, Dhillon said she was in touch with Attorney General Pam Bondi and the FBI, and said she would be 'all over' Lemon's actions in Minnesota.
'We are investigating potential criminal violations of federal law,' the prosecutor added.
Reached by phone on Monday, Lemon's husband Timothy Malone declined to comment and said he had 'nothing to say' on the possibility the former CNN anchor could face criminal charges.
Dhillon said her department is investigating whether Lemon and the anti-ICE mob violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.
The legislation prohibits attempting to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person exercising their First Amendment right to religious freedom at a place of worship.

Arrest people in violation of US Code, arraign them, let them post bond or hold them over for trial. If they do not, the flood the zone momentum of leftists in rage fits will overtake any city in a matter of months.

And long ago a shooter entered the Shaarey Zedak synagogue in Southfield, MI and shot Rabbi Morris Adler as he was conducting a prayer service. 1966. Part of the freeway nearby was renamed in his honor.

Have you noticed that the left never says or writes anything nasty about AG pam bondi. They know she is harmless to them. The pam bondi total inaction figure.
They’ll be no arrest, no indictment, no trial, no jail.
The rioters are lucky they weren’t shot. With the recent church shootings many places of worship now have armed security at all the entrances.
Bondi is all over it. After her nail salon visit.
Don Lemon said he was there to record the spontaneous demonstration.
He did, however, remember to treat the protesters to a coffee and cupcake breakfast.
