Should Trump really risk acquiring Greenland as a territory? I'm surprised the Democrats aren't already smirking and hissing, "Go for it, Donnie!" They'd be thrilled to have a mix of disgruntled, race baiting Eskimos and entitled Eurotrash Danes demanding statehood. As with Washington D.C., Greenland would give the 'Rat party an automatic two new AOC type senators and one Congress person if it were to join the Union.
Maybe Greenland's slender population of 56,000 would preclude statehood? Maybe enough fishermen, miners, oil field roughnecks, and other red blooded Americans would move into Greenland by the time the issue of statehood even comes up, and they could outvote the current cohort of communists, perverts, racial malcontents, welfare parasites, etc.

A territory, just like the Virgin Islands became after we bought them from the Danish.
They do not have enough population to make a state.
They would be best served with the same deal as Puerto Rico.
Self government under the Constitution, no income taxes, full US citizenship.
That oughta change some minds.
Too Liberal to be a state any time soon.
Sweeten the deal by promising to modernize them infrastructurally.

I think Greenlanders are happy with their life of fishing and hunting....my hubby would have loved that...
I'm not sure of the possibility of other economies growing...minerals...I doubt if anyone really...for sure...knows what's there.
The only way anything will happen will be while Trump is President.
So hang on...we're in for a ride.....And Trump is right....we need Greenland as a strategic entity.

Probably a ploy to wring some concessions out of the Danes and Greenlanders.

Ask Alaska how it became a state. Lots of stationed military helped to ensure passage.
Make it part of Texas.
Greenland is never becoming a state. Territory at most.

A state implies 2 US senators - to represent 55,000 people. Nope - it can become a US territory.
It would be a great tourist destination for folks who want to look at barren landscapes filled with rocks.
