Carson Beck came to Miami to get the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff. His TD run with 18 seconds to go in the Fiesta Bowl put the team in the national championship game.
Beck — a player not known for his scrambling ability — rushed for the game-winning score in No. 10 Miami's 31-27 win over No. 6 Ole Miss. It was Beck's first rushing TD since he scored in Week 3 against South Florida. And it put Miami a win away from the school's first title since the 2001 season.

ROFL! You are certainly not the only one happy about that!
Miami QB Carson Beck did not start for two seasons at the University of Georgia before transferring to the University of Miami.
The starting QB at the University of Washington - who is seeking a transfer - is being sued by UW for violating commercial contracts he signed with UW.
That UW QB just announced that “after thoughtful reflection” with his family, he will not be leaving UW. I guess facing a lawsuit, and the UW still owning his image rights may have been part of that process of “reflection”.
I do not follow college sports, but I didn’t realize there was so much money to be made by the players. Whatever happened to those scandals of years gone by when the schools would get fined for buying fancy dinners and clothes for the kids? (Or maybe that was just on recruitment trips?)
I will guess that elite high school players now sign agents BEFORE they even visit a college, but I do not know that for certain.
Currently $2800 to $26,000. Maybe walk to save on parking.
I was watching an interview of some sophomore at the high school I went to. He was just signed by an NHL hockey team. But, he said he is going to finish HS as he wants to get a football championship (he is the QB, and they did), and then play hockey (they are in the middle of the season and usually go to the state tournament), and then play some league hockey in N. Minnesota, and then play for Michigan before going pro.
He sounded like a really smart kid. Talked about the coaches in each program and how they will help him be a great player in the NHL.
Really great game!
Too bad one team had to lose...
I've got a great seat in my living room. No line for the bathroom and cheap beer in the fridge.
At that point I’ll pay for parking. I am already that much in the hole might as well spend a few more.
The date starts @ $52,000. Could just buy her a house instead. Lasts longer.
Second consecutive ACC vs Big Ten championship (Notre Dame counts as ACC for statistics because of their 5-game load, including one year where they represented the ACC). Will it be the first all-adidas championship of the CFP history?
You are right.
It was as good a game as you’ll ever see. Could have gone either way - 6 lead changes in last 6 minutes.
From Florida originally, and did grad work at UofMiami, I was for Miami and what a great win it was. When Beck couldn’t find an open target on that last play, it was looking bleak, but he pulled an incredible scramble.
But I grew up in Indiana - so I’m torn - but I’ll be happy with either win as long as Oregon is beat.
Think I’m leaning Hoosiers as they are great people. And my senior year in college my girlfriend was Homecoming queen at IU..........
The one thing Oregon and Indiana have in common is James Madison University
What a great game. Miami plays at home for the Championship.
As usual, receiver gets mugged on the hail Mary with no call at 0:00
Ho hum
My grandson is also a freshman and I have a feeling my son just might bite the bullet and go to the game.
Exactly what I said. Obvious pass interference on the hail Mary throw.
When Beck couldn’t find an open target on that last play, it was looking bleak, but he pulled an incredible scramble.
There was an obvious hold that freed up Beck on that play that didn’t get called.
