Carson Beck came to Miami to get the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff. His TD run with 18 seconds to go in the Fiesta Bowl put the team in the national championship game.

Beck — a player not known for his scrambling ability — rushed for the game-winning score in No. 10 Miami's 31-27 win over No. 6 Ole Miss. It was Beck's first rushing TD since he scored in Week 3 against South Florida. And it put Miami a win away from the school's first title since the 2001 season.

Ole Miss defense was lacking at the end. They got gassed.

SEC out.

Amazing nail-biting battle, right to the bitter end.

What’s amazing is the championship game happens to be at Hard Rock stadium - Hurricanes home field.

That's the game Miami wanted to play... the physical battle.

I doubt I’ll pay up for a seat. Probably run thousands for a good one.

I saw Miami’s first championship win in the Orange Bowl, 1984. I think I paid $50 or $60 back then. That was a great game too, UM vs. Tom Osborne’s Nebraska, 31-30.

Their defense was great right after half time, but they petered out…..
I’m going with Indiana tomorrow night.
Eugene Oregon (Duck country) is littered with leftists and U of O is full of commie professors with TDS.

Give Beck the MVP trophy, he won the game for them on that final drive. I actually kept waiting for him to throw a pick, which he’s known to do at times, but he played very well when it counted at the end. Ole Miss might have won though if Lacy was 100% and that’s not sour grapes, he just wasn’t himself after that one run, and the backup was really a drop off.

I was rooting for Olé Miss to win, because it would have set Olé Miss up for its first natty since 1962.

Yeah that'll happen when the other team dominates time of possession 41 to 18 minutes, which was unbelievable.

Chambliss threw more long passes, threw for more yards, but Beck made some real clutch passes at the end that won the game ...

Miami won the national title at home in that epic 1988 game in the Orange Bowl. Jimmy Johnson and Michael Irvin beating Barry Switzer and the Sooners. All three would end up winning Super Bowls for the Cowboys just a few years later.

Well at least that prick Lane Kiffin didn't get the $250,000 bonus check the team he abandoned would have been forced to pay him, had they won.
