Many environment and climate-related stories hit the headlines in 2025.
Here at home, we had the record-breaking Storm Éowyn, one of the most powerful and widespread wind events to hit Ireland since the so-called “Night of the Big Wind” in 1839.
Globally we had confirmation that average temperatures throughout the past three years exceeded 1.5°C of warming, and each of the past three years was either the hottest, the second hottest or the third hottest year on record. […]
But one story is head and shoulders above all others when it comes to the most consequential environment event of 2025. It is the inauguration of Donald Trump as US President last January. The zeal with which he and his Republicans have torn up America’s long established climate policies is a huge blow to global efforts to mitigate climate change.
On his first day back in office, Mr. Trump made a huge deal out of publicly signing an executive order to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. He has repeatedly claimed climate change is a hoax. It sent a very strong signal that any promises and commitments made by the biggest polluters and the richest countries cannot be relied upon.
If the United States can change its position after every election, then all other countries become less willing to make painful concessions and commitments to decarbonize their economies and societies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions now.
This is a huge issue for developing countries, the so-called Global South, where population growth is strongest and the need for economic progress is desperate. …

Meanwhile, Ireland is getting temperatures in the low 20s and snow this week. And George Lee still publishes this pack of lies.
Is that walrus still scouting the area? I’d say any time you get a walrus coming around, be prepared for some colder weather.
Climate Change has nothing to do with weather, climate, temperatures, snow, rain, ice, or wind. These annoying factors are irrelevant. Waste of time to discuss them with the climate brainwashed.
Just as the PDS* “vaccines” had nothing to do with health and disease mitigation.
It is all about centralized power and wealth confiscation as befitting the masters of the global-control agenda. Power and wealth.
Most of those on this site understand these matters. Many of the uneducated masses do not.

“one of the most powerful and widespread wind events to hit Ireland since the so-called “Night of the Big Wind” in 1839.”
So, right in that sentence they admit nothing has changed.
They’ve been through it before, and most likely, will again.
All these climate grifters are after is more US taxpayer’s money.
Degrowth.
I usually turn the AC on when it’s hot or heat when it’s cold and dress accordingly. I found that helps and is far easier then controlling the sun or earths atmosphere.
“Globally we had confirmation that average temperatures throughout the past three years exceeded 1.5°C of warming, and each of the past three years was either the hottest, the second hottest or the third hottest year on record.”
Ummmm - been in S. Mississippi since 1985 - did a search for latest average temps and was told that 2023 was a record-breaker with average temp of 78.1....then asked for temps between 1985 and 1990 and found out that 1988 had the same average temp - and the years surrounding the 1980’s-1990 period are very similar to 2020 - 2023, which is what the compromised AIs use as “examples” when you don’t pin them down.
Climate change = weather.
We are coming out of an ice age.
Globalists ambitions weakened by Trump. HOORAY President Trump!
I've always referred to it as The Jab, myself.
“one of the most powerful and widespread wind events to hit Ireland since the so-called “Night of the Big Wind” in 1839.”
Aye, that time Paddy Flanagan drank all the Guinness and ate 17 pickled duck eggs. They still talk of that night.
As I see it, the latest “Big Wind” that was smaller than one a couple centuries ago indicates that storms are getting less severe, not more severe. In addition, I would say that having slightly warmer (+1.5 C) temperatures in Ireland is cheered by the Irish, though “not enough”.
My “ambition” is to place all the “climate change” hoaxers in insane asylums.
Indeed, you are doing exactly what mankind CAN do for the change in climate....compensate for it. Doesn’t require sending anyone any extra money for something thay can’t change anyway.
Another win.
You mean since Obama?
Global efforts to mitigate climate change
Why would the US not participating have some big impact on "global" efforts? China emits almost TWICE as much carbon as the US (if you believe carbon emissions to be a problem). and US carbon emissions have steadily been going DOWN for years. (see chart at link) https://www.statista.com/statistics/183943/us-carbon-dioxide-emissions-from-1999/
By the way, just think how much more the US will continue to reduce its carbon emissions as the Trump administration continues to deport millions of illegal aliens every year! Its good to know you firmly support mass deportation in order to achieve reduced emissions since that's what's so important and all. Say, while we're at it, I am glad to know you support mass deportation of 3rd world invaders from all advanced western countries so that they too can reduce their carbon emissions. Glad you're on board with this!
if the United States can change its position after every election, then all other countries become less willing to make painful concessions and commitments to decarbonize their economies and societies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions now.
Do tell, what painful concessions did China make? As previously pointed out, it emits almost TWICE as much carbon as the US. What painful concessions did India make? It is already the world's 3rd largest carbon emitter and its carbon emissions by year look like this (see chart) https://ourworldindata.org/profile/co2/india
By the way, I might add that the US can so easily change its position because it never ratified the Paris Agreement. It is therefore not a treaty and the US is not obligated to follow it. It was just Obama/Biden policy, nothing more.
Now, exiting the Paris Agreement means the US will not play its part in providing access to the climate finance previously promised to the rest of the world.
Oh, you mean now that the effort to shake America down for huge amounts of money has failed........
The global warming/climate change idiocy should be shut down. It is absolute BS based on lies and distortion by corrupt-o-crats and no-integrity “scientists”.
When will China and India stop their pollution? It is a Hoax, when I see an antique map of Tampa Bay, it looks the same - except for canals and dredging where man made islands were created.
“Night of the Big Wind” = every time a left-winger eats beans.
