Are enemy soldiers on the battlefield afforded due process before we shoot them?
Maduro was taken on a DOJ warrant for particular federal crimes. He is not now or ever was considered to be an enemy combatant. If I have read the events correctly while Delta made entry into Maduro’s fortress it was DOJ officers who took him and is wife into custody. I give plaudits to Trump. He’s trying to do this right.

Armed enemy soldiers in a state of attack are legal targets. Enemy soldiers taken prisoner are entitled to due process if they are charged with war crimes. If not, they are held until the end of hostilities and repatriation of all prisoners.
