British family are accused of wheeling a DEAD grandmother on to easyJet flight from Spain after 'telling cabin crew she was tired'
UK Daily Mail ^ | 19 December 2025 | SOPHIE CARLIN

One passenger even claimed to have heard one of the group tell the clerk: 'It's OK, we're doctors'.

EasyJet today insisted that the concerned passengers were wrong, the passenger had a fit to fly certificate - and was alive when she boarded the plane.

'I know it's not funny because somebody did actually die, but easyJet ground staff actually allowed someone that looked completely dead onto the plane and then funnily enough, just as we were about to take off, they died.

'Called back to the terminal, whole flight cancelled, everybody pulled off the plane.

'They wouldn't let you on if you were drunk but apparently, it's OK if you're dead and you look dead, and she really looked like she was dead, in a chair, being pushed by her family.

'And apparently the family were questioned by the ground staff and said she was absolutely fine. She was not absolutely fine.

'Everybody that she went past went like, 'Oh my God, she looks dead', and she was dead. So, easyJet, you should be ashamed of yourselves, your ground staff were appalling today.'

An elderly British passenger was wheeled onto an easyJet flight from Spain to Gatwick when she was already dead, horrified holidaymakers have claimed.

The 89-year-old was helped on board the aircraft by five of her relatives who, witnesses say, told airline staff she was unwell and had fallen asleep.

Fellow passengers told how the body had been pushed by a wheelchair to the group's seats at the rear of the aircraft and lifted into her seat, assisted by five members of her family.

They claimed the group had only been permitted to get onto the plane because they told a boarding clerk, who had questioned the woman's apparent ill health, that she was 'just tired'.

If you buy a ticket the price is pretty reasonable. But once you die...see below prices for transport.

Exactly.

My immiediate thought upon reading the headline is that we're talking about a Spanish national who died in Britain and her family wanted to bury her in Spain. Once they saw the costs and administrative hurdles they said, "Screw this! Just buy abuela a plane ticket. Nobody will ever know."

If the family had a ticket for the dead person, I don’t see a problem. Is there a FAA regulation that prevents dead people from flying?

No, they're allowed. But - for understandable reasons - they aren't allowed in the Exit Row.

Regards,

They were trying to avoid the high fees airlines charge to transport a dead body (for burial somewhere else) by pretending the dead person was still alive.

According to easyJet, the elderly woman had a fit to fly certificate and was alive whn she boarded the plane. But passengers were adamant that there was something more than tiredness going on. Petra Boddington said: “What were easyJet ground staff thinking today? They asked the family five times if this woman was ok... she was clearly not ok!

If this family was White British natives, granny would have been called out as dead. Not allowed to board. So me bet that Granny and her 5 family members who pushed her onboard were brown, black, gypsies, minority, is reinforced. The EasyJet staff did not want to deal with accusations of RACISM! They were minority migrants of unknown (yet to be determined) stripe(s).

They were in the air, right?

Might I suggest that a reindeer 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌 was involved.

Before my husband died, I was terrified he wanted to be buried in his home state of Pennsylvania, which meant I’d have to transport his body across the country for burial.

I checked with the airlines and at that time it was between $3-5,000, which I was prepared to pay. A one-way ticket to Philly at that time was around $150, or even less.

Fortunately, husband said he wanted to remain in California, where he is to this day, I’m sure voting Democrat, which he’d never done in his life.

Cantankerous Aunt Edna dies in her sleep and they strap her body to the roof of the station wagon for the rest of their disastrous trip to Wally World, even taking her dog Dinky along for the ride.

If Airline was still being broadcast, I wonder if this incident would be included in one of the episodes.
