During a press conference on Wednesday, a Providence-area radio host, Chas Calenda, directly confronted Brown University officials and law enforcement with information he has received about the school intentionally disabling surveillance systems due to DEI concerns.
The response from university officials and the Providence Mayor indicate Mr. Chas Calenda’s informed accusation and question is directly on target. WATCH:
In addition to information we previously shared {GO DEEP} reflecting requests from various “civil rights” and “humanitarian” groups who demanded Brown University disable their surveillance system, additional information about the issue comes via the Rhode Island ACLU making the same demand in October of this year [SEE HERE].
Brown University was under pressure from far-left groups as an outcome of concern the CCTV and school security system would be used by federal authorities to (a) identify radical leftists expressing antisemitic sentiments, and (b) identify the immigration status of persons on campus. It is not just isolated to Brown University.
Multiple municipal governments, private and municipal agencies have received the same demand in an ongoing effort to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. The mass shooting on Brown University is leading to a larger public awareness of an issue that has been spreading rapidly in the last several months.
The claim by Chas Calenda is that his local sources within law enforcement are confirming the university cowed to the concerns of the civil rights groups, including the removal of cameras. This is why there is no recorded CCTV footage, and the university is talking gibberish in their efforts to avoid admitting what has taken place.
Brown University and Providence police have $8 billion liability reasons to be less than honest with the alarmed public. The political ramifications of the story are also complicating the issue for Brown University, as well as local and national figures.
Here is the full press conference. The key question comes at the very end of the video 49:20. [video at link]
DEI also means protecting criminals.
All I get at that website is pop ups with virus warnings and it locks my computer. Unless you carshare content then it is a no go for me.
In this case, leftist anti-Semitic possibly illegal alien criminals
So many criminals and criminal-lovers are in positions of “authority”.
Arrest them all...hold military trials...if/when found guilty hang them all.
they are paid corruptly MILLIONS of $ per year
from the governor, mayor, police chief, on down
to protect criminals and push multi-state
fentanyl trafficking.
This is wrong, probably even in Columbia.
I can’t seem to get on board with this Brown Shooter BS. It seems a stretch to pin this on a dead body left in a storage room.
Cameras are fantastic... But many aren’t maintained or operated 24/7... That’s just the way it is. Some knucklehead ripped the sideview mirror off my car while it was parked right beside an exterior public camera. The cops claimed that the camera was for ‘crowd control’ only... I asked them to check it anyway, and when I called a couple of days later they claimed they checked it but that they couldn’t see anything.
Regardless... They identified the perp in the Brown shooting, they found that perp dead in a storage facility and this case is over. Trying to keep it revived because the cameras didn’t catch him shooting anybody is nonsense.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had the opportunity to meet a physics major... But most of them are on the verge of insanity on any given day. This ones insanity percolated over the years and the cheese finally slid off his cracker. Case closed.
Are they disabled, or do they SAY they’re ‘disabled’. The reason that I ask is that they are effective weapons against Far-Right Violence-Prone people, like a Christian praying before class. So, having the cameras off likely prevents the school from taking action against that Christian and thereby protecting the rest of the student body from him.
When does all of this criminal activity rise to a Federal level and when can Bondi and Patel get involved in these issues? Enough is enough.
PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is assuming that students' families actually care about safety of their children!
And, it was all over the internet in previous days saying it was someone totally different.
I watched last night’s presser. Like most of us, I’ve seen more than a few over the years.
What struck me is this:
1. Did it seems like all the involved parties were very very over the top in congratulating and lauding each other for their hard work?
2. Did it seem like these same agencies were a little thin-skinned in which they made mention of the criticism they took from outsiders for their actions or lack there of>
Did it seem like these same individuals and agencies were off-base by blaming online speculation as being a factor in making their jobs harder to do?
Sadly most police chiefs are politicians, so they too should sit down and shut up. The Colombian of Providence, what a clown.
I figure a Chief Detective should be able to speak . Perhaps the State Police . A cop or two and the DA on what legal procedures took place or will take place.
Surveillance systems everywhere have been challenged by a variety of groups. Rioters and criminals obviously don’t want to be identified, and there are others that are then, also taking advantage of the known blindness.
The recent FOI rulings are concerning to all, both the bad guys and the good guys.
Dam lefties.....obsessed w/ DEI
Brown University was under pressure from the far-left wrt the school’s security system
<><>the left whined security data would be used by the feds
<><>to (a) identify radical leftists expressing antisemitic sentiments,
<><>and (b) to identify the immigration status of persons on campus.
<><>this lefty atrocity is not just isolated to Brown University.
<><>Multiple muni govts, private and municipal agencies have received the same demand
<><>there’s an ongoing lefty effort to block ICE’s valiant operations
<><>The mass shooting at Brown is leading to public awareness of the left’s rank stupidity
<><>lefty stupidity has been spreading rapidly in the last several months.
<><>bleeding heart “civil rightists” and “humanitarian” whining made Brown disable surveillance.
<><>the issue appears via the Rhode Island ACLU making the same demand in Oct.
“I’m not sure if you’ve ever had the opportunity to meet a physics major... But most of them are on the verge of insanity on any given day.”
Lol.
I had several good friends that were Physics majors at MIT. They were all real characters. My favorite—probably the brightest of all of them—would rant to anyone who would listen how all the Physics taught at MIT was wrong and he would devote his life to fixing it.
Punch line—he married a ridiculously wealthy woman and his career was doing philanthropy with her money (nothing to do with physics).
Lol.
The “online speculation” or “leaks” can be a strategic tool, but very few have mastered it, and it moves faster than most people can think. Chiefs and investors need to get, and stay in front of it. Even if you are a excellent tactician, (very few are) you will get run over occasionally.
Yep. They knew crimes caught on their cameras would most likely be committed by DEI types so they disabled them so as to not appear "racist."
