I asked Grok why I have been inundated with liberal content on X. Reply at link.
I just block it.....................
Do you mean that you are getting uninvited Notifications from websites you rarely ever go to?
Or. When you leave your response to any posted topic. you are suddenly attracting ever so many liberal Trolls wanting to argue with you?
Link says “conversation not found”.
Every now and then you have to a do a little housekeeping by clicking the ellipses and saying “I’m not interested in this post”....OR, you can gird for battle, blast away for a bit, and THEN opt out.
X is worthless.
Yep. Swalwell, Ms MN islam, everyone! Even the baldie. Block block block
I’m not on X, but I do see the same stuff happening on Facebook. I get a few liberal sources in my timeline. I always block them.
I did the same a few months ago. I had to refocus on the people I was following for a while to fix it.
I can stand some, but it was like everything I was seeing was leftist crap.
Yes. They said they were going to fix it, but it’s still there.
You can change the feed tab at the top of the page from “For You” to “Following” and that helps a lot.
I noticed the algorithm changed quite a bit after I went down the “For You” feed and muted a bunch of Lefty accounts, all a a sudden it had nothing on the feed then a couple of minutes later it reloaded with a lot less Lefty stuff.
Yes
I do too. I have found that blocking a few of them alters the algorithm somewhat keeping that trash out of my “For You” channel for awhile.
I think Musk wants more engagement and interaction.
It’s not just YOU seeing more lefties. Leftists are seeing more conservatives responding to their stuff. The mental effects of breaking up their echo chambers is worse for them.
No X...no problem.
Here's the answer from Grok:
Many conservatives on X are reporting the same issue right now—feeds suddenly flooded with liberal or left-leaning posts, even from accounts they don't follow, despite mostly engaging with conservative content.Algorithm Prioritizes EngagementX's For You feed (the default timeline) uses an algorithm that prioritizes posts likely to drive high engagement, including replies, quotes, likes, and views. Controversial or "rage-bait" content from the opposite side often performs best because it provokes strong reactions—even negative ones like angry replies or quote posts. If you've ever scrolled past, lingered on, or interacted (even subtly) with a liberal post, the algorithm interprets that as interest and serves more of it. This creates a feedback loop where opposing views bubble up to keep users scrolling longer.Recent Changes to the FeedIn late November 2025, X rolled out a major update: the Following tab (posts only from people you follow) is now also algorithmically ranked by Grok (xAI's AI) to show "most engaging" content first, rather than strict chronological order. You can switch back to pure chronological via the three-dot menu in the tab, but many users miss this and stay on the default ranked view. This shift affects both tabs and amplifies whatever gets early reactions—often polarizing stuff.Asymmetric Tactics and Sentiment AnalysisSome prominent conservative voices (like Grummz) point out that organized left-leaning users historically use mass block lists and X lists to monitor and quickly reply-guy conservative posts.
This leads to negative early sentiment (hate replies hitting first), which the algorithm may deboost. Combined with the engagement focus, it can push more liberal content into conservative feeds as "counterprogramming" or bait.No Evidence of Deliberate Anti-Conservative BiasBroader studies and user surveys (even into 2025) generally show X's algorithm favoring or amplifying right-leaning content overall since Elon Musk's ownership, with conservatives viewing the platform more positively. But individual experiences vary wildly due to personal interaction history. Elon has noted that dwelling on or sharing opposing content signals high interest to the algo.Quick Fixes to Clean Up Your FeedSwitch to the Following tab and select chronological order (tap the ⋯ menu at the top). Actively like, reply to, and retweet conservative posts you want more of—this trains the algorithm positively.
Mute or block liberal accounts aggressively; avoid engaging with bait posts. Use lists of conservative accounts for a curated view.
It's frustrating and seems widespread among conservatives lately, but it's largely how engagement-driven algorithms work across platforms—not a targeted suppression. If it persists, the chronological Following tab is your best bet for control.
If you were to add up all possible symbols represented in the English alphabet, the total would be 26.
If you were to add up all possible symbols NOT represented in the English alphabet, the total would be infinite.
It is the same with truth vs. lies - there is usually only one true answer to a question, but an infinite number of lies. How tall am I? One true answer but an unlimited number of false answers.
I believe this is why there is far more leftist content in social media than conservative content. They are liars and there is no limit to the number of lies they can invent - we are limited to the truth.
It promotes”engagement”. Follow the money.
They just started showing up on my timeline.
I noticed that my feed is on “for you” every time I open it now, rather than “following”, the way it used to open. Grok told me they had lots of complaints about it, but they don’t seem to be interested in correcting it. I suspect that’s to increase traffic. I just have to remember to click “following” every time I open it up.
