Actor James Woods recalls his friendship with Rob Reiner, despite their political differences, following his murder on 'Jesse Watters Primetime.'

Wish Woods could have told him to tone down his violent rhetoric.
And perhaps he did try, to no avail. I think I have read (here, in fact), that multiple friends of Rob recalled trying to encourage him to disengage with his TDS AS it was alarming and uncomfortable even to them (as presumed anti-Trump persons), to no avail as well.
Well, Reiner did go to behavioral health treatments for his TDS so maybe Woods did.
Rob’s portrayal of Michael Stivic on All in the Family was not an act, it was his true self.............
I think Reiner was completely consumed with hatred for Trump and all things related to Trump. Frankly, outside of that compulsion, he was probably a pretty nice guy.
We can take a lesson from that: never get so consumed with anger and hate that we forget our humanity.
Maybe Nick Reiner will get clean in prison.
Trump points out the truth and HE is a bad guy. I love it when he triggers all of the leftist ire. It never get’s old and he is SO good at it. :)
Yup.
Funny how political differences especially online can foster great anger.
Old geezers like me remember “Meathead” very well and liked the character, and love "When Harry Met Sally", but when Reiner came out with vicious Trump hatred, all that went out the door. Its fine for people to belong to different political parties or there'd be no elections, but don't carry political disagreements to constantly calling your political opponent, "Hitler".
If the son is,in fact,a schizophrenic (I’ve read that he is) then all bets are off when it comes to predicting the person’s future behavior. I worked in front line medicine for years and had contact with many people with serious psychiatric problems. It’s written that the typical schizophrenic isn’t dangerous (to others at least) but they often have the most extreme fears and incredibly irrational thoughts.
Funny how political differences especially online can foster great anger.
The great line of demarcation in modern poli
tics, Eric Voegelin used to point out, is not a division
between liberals on one side and totalitarians on the
other. No, on one side of that line are all those men
and women who fancy that the temporal order is the
only order, and that material needs are their only
needs, and that they may do as they like with the
human patrimony.
On the other side of that line are
all those people who recognize an enduring moral
order in the universe, a constant human nature, and
high duties toward the order spiritual and the order
temporal
Conservatism is a way of thinking, it is not a ideological political position.
Read the above. is there anything you disagree with? Read it often, let your lips move, outline points that speak to you and give to others.
Woods is stronger than I. It is difficult for me to remain friendly with haters.
Wretched behavior, Obermann too! There’s accountability and then there is cheerleading. To have been so in the bag for the corrupt HRC that your head explodes is inexcusable.
I saw a retired E9 go so completly ballistic he alienated every one of his peers and colleagues including his now divorced wife. It was fugly.
never get so consumed with anger and hate that we forget our humanity.
And the way to do that is to have a good foundation. Understand human nature and why you do and think the way you do.
I do not perceive Trump as an angry man. He says things to make you think, to challenge your thinking. Sometimes it is MAGA, sometimes logic, sometimes your emotions. Trump is very goal oriented. MAGA is always the agenda.
But it depends on your ears as to what you hear.

I have posted the above often and will continue to do so until someone reads it. It will serve you well.
I saw this last night - very moving...... Never saw anything online or TV about Reiner and TDS. Why is he taking such a beating here about it? People forget everyone is entitled to their own opinion and agenda without taking a beating - even AFTER death?????
James Woods is one great actor. Went to bed last night remembering him in “Once Upon a Time in America”. If I see it a dozen times, I’ll not get it figured out! Think I’ll watch it again.
Archie and Meathead are talking about politics, which is something they discuss a lot on the show, and Meathead says something about how people no longer try to fix things if they are broken.
Archie: “Well, you don’t work. Maybe we should throw you out.”
Recall, at the end of the series ‘M. Stivic’ gets a job at the university (some -ology no doubt), meets some grad student strange and leaves wife Gloria a single mother.
Norman Lear shows were completely pozzed, TV kultursmog has gotten worse ever since this show.
>That’s anti-semitic!
No. Nick Reiner was anti-semitic.
A lot of folks have the (odd) need to be ‘right’ and that everyone has to believe the same as they do.
Works well for directors, I’m sure - but not so much in other areas.
Mike and Gloria were supposed to be the stars of the show, according to Norman Lear.
Lear and the writers got so frustrated trying to make that work, but everything they did just made Archie and Edith more popular and eventually they gave up...............
