A Minnesota high school has threatneed to suspend students who talk positively about Immigration and Customers Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Paul Paetzel, the principal at Edina High School in Minnesota, has warned that making reference to the work of ICE agents and President Trump’s policy of mass deportations goes against the “culture” that his school is trying to foster.
He wrote in a letter parents:
I want to speak directly and proactively about the culture we are committed to creating at Edina High School.
As we continue to grow as a community, it is essential that we are clear about the expectations we hold for language and behavior that honor the dignity of every student.
Making light of immigration threats or referencing ICE in ways that cause fear or humiliation is a serious offense and not representative of our core values.
Behavior of this nature fundamentally violates our commitment to providing a safe and equitable learning environment free from harassment.
Such language and behaviors directly contradict Edina Public Schools’ vision and mission, and what we expect of our students.
If this type of behavior occurs, we will honor the discipline policy and move forward with consequences up to and including suspension.
Our responsibility is to protect every student’s right to feel safe, respected, and valued at school.
The school, which educates over 2,700 students in grades nine through 12, is said to be among one of the best performing in the country.
His comments come at a time when Minnesota and its outsized Somali population are under intense scrutiny.
Thousands of Somalis, many of whom are residing in the U.S. illegally, were recently found to committed major social security fraud under the leadership of the state’s governor and failed vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz.
Nevertheless, Walz has insisted that it is white men who are really at fault and that he is determined to welcome more people in from the failed and war-torn African nation.
“We are going to defend our neighbors,” Walz said at fundraiser last week.
“Instead of demonizing our Somali community, we’re going to do more to welcome more in.”
Knew before clicking the link that it was either Edina or Eden Prairie.
Government schools threaten kids who support the government.
Culture of Evil
Paul Paetzel needs a crash course in freedom of speech.
I love how they keep what constitutes a violation extremely vague so they can use this for an excuse to expel conservative students. But I expect nothing less from the land of the AWFLs of which Edina is one of the capitols of AWFLland.
After reading the title I immediately checked to see if it was from The Bee.
Edina is a well off community.
Someone is going to get a major lawsuit dropped in their lap.
Stuck on stupid. Some parents may see this rule as a violation of their child’s Free Speech. Not all families are going to just hunch their shoulders and say “Oh Well, the Principal has spoken, and we must obey!”
Doom and Gloomers ,LOL
Thou shalt not blaspheme!
I would love to see them triggered by someone putting flyers up outside the school with ICE contact information for Minneapolis area.
As Alinsky said: “RULE 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
I wish some 6'4" Marine would give him a crash course in anything the Marine thinks is suitable.
Massive civil rights violation...
Note to the district’s taxpayers: Unless you love taking it in the wallet, I’d get your district to cease and desist.
As “we” continue to grow as a community, it is essential that “we “ are clear about the expectations “we” hold for language and behavior that honor the dignity of every student.

Who is this “we” MFer?
YOU work for the taxpayer, not the other way around. Eat a bat of dicks. Then eat the bag.
I’d bet the rent money that if is was Biden or Obama who wanted illegals out, those same teachers would be cheering them on. This is more about their manufactured hate for Trump than anything else.
That the principle had to write such a letter, tells you that the students know the truth and active....................
Nice one! I’ve heard the first part before. The last part (eat bag) is a nice touch! I like it!
Oh, I don’t think so! This isn’t the UK!
*************
So its HIS school and he's imposing HIS culture. He's supposed to be a principle providing a sound learning environment for students, not a ruler and enforcer of his own political and personal views.
