One of the world's richest men rewards hero who disarmed Bondi Beach terrorist

One of the world's richest men has rewarded the hero who tackled and disarmed one of the Bondi Beach attackers by grabbing his gun.

Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, 50, allegedly opened fire on a Jewish Hanukkah event shortly before 7pm on Sunday, killing at least 15 innocent people and injuring a further 40.

Father-of-two and fruit shop owner Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been identified by relatives as the man seen fighting one of the terrorists in a video widely shared on social media.

Shortly after the terror attack, Bill Ackman, a Jewish investment banker, worth more than $9.5billion, said he wanted to reward Mr Ahmed for his bravery.

'Can someone please set up a verified so we can reward him and his family,' he wrote on social media.

A GoFundMe has since been launched, and Daily Mail understands Mr Ackman has already donated $100,000 to Mr Ahmad.

Mr Ahmad's family said he remains in hospital where he has undergone surgery for bullet wounds to his arm and hand.

He is seen in the footage, wearing a white T-shirt and crouching behind a car before pouncing on the back of the gunman then grappling with him and snatching the rifle away from him.

The terrorist backs away in a car park area as Mr Ahmed points the shotgun at him.

The hero is then seen raising his hand before resting the gun against a tree apparently to show police he was not one of the attackers.

His cousin Mustafa told 7News Australia: 'Still he is in hospital and we don't know exactly what is going on, the doctor says he is OK.

'We hope he is okay, he is a hero, 100 per cent he is a hero.

Am I supposed to be afraid to be American or something?

If Trent Reznor were following me I'd be concerned, too.

What mystifies me is both the shooters and the man who disarmed one all have Arabic names, where I presume they were all followers of Islam.

Those who do their best to follow the Koran and strive to kill or convert non-believers are considered "good". If the courageous disarming fellow is also Islamic he'll be tagged as "bad", and dead meat if imprisoned with other Muslims.

This brave Muslim will now become a target of the radical Muslims.

Netenyahu spoke of him yesterday in appreciation. He needs to offer citizenship to this man and his family as they will be a target. This man should be on the list of “Nations of Righteousness.” He is a honorable and brave man.

He is Syrian. That doesn’t make him Muslim.

I really don’t know who Trent Reznor is and so I don’t follow what you are saying but please don’t try to explain it to me. A guy tried to stop the guy. It was very courageous. I merely made a comment and I got criticized, insulted for it. I’m getting pretty sick of anytime I make a comment here, a simple comment, if it doesn’t follow somebodies playbook an attack is made.

Click on the link in my post and you’ll see Trent Reznor of the music group “Nine Inch Nails” following David Bowie around in the video “I’m Afraid of Americans”, which was my response to you asking if you were supposed to be afraid of being American or something.

I made no verbal attack whatsoever and didn’t even imply any criticism - just expressed concern that the fellow will have to expect repercussions from an unforgiving group of heathens.

May you have a better day.

yeah it is the same stupid reason they say “person of interest” instead of suspect.

There was a lawsuit, years ago, I think it was the olympic park incident and Richard Jewel if I recall. Labeled him a suspect and he was innocent, he sued and won.

I think he was probably afraid the police would shoot him seeing him with a gun, and when he realized that, he dropped that gun like a hot potato. Smart.

What BS.

There is no “allegedly” about it.”

Don’t believe your lyin’ eyes. Watched a moron TV “journalist” use that word this morning as the video played and wondered how he can continue in such an occupation.

That was my take. In leftist crapholes like Australia and Maryland, picking up a gun that you removed from an active shooter is probably a felony in itself.

(Yea, they tried to make such a law in Maryland. Any transfer of a firearm, even having a friend shoot your rifle at a range requires a full background check)

As he drew down on the raghead, he was shot in the leg. The shotgun may have also been empty at that point.

Plus he may not have ever fired or even held a gun before and likely didn’t know how.

This is the post I was referring to, whom I addressed my post to, because of what he said to me. Did you see this before you posted me? It explains why I posted “Am I supposed to be afraid to be American or something?” It has nothing to do with Trent Reznor’s song.

“To: Beowulf9
The video shows that the Dad shooter disarmed by the hero then walked to the pedestrian bridge—where his son was shooting people—got another rifle or shotgun and started shooting at people again.
Why didn’t the hero shoot maniac Dad, then maniac son?
That would have been heroic.
>Stop being so American
