Danged good movie!!
Love it.
It was moronic, even for t.v.
Great movie!!
I was quite taken by this movie when I saw it on TV, back in the 1970s.
My children didn’t like it that much though.
Enjoyed this as a kid. Good clean fun.
I haven’t seen it for 15-20 years, but I thought it was a very good movie, and was amazed at Tony Randall’s ‘range’.
Anyone else see parallels to “Something Wicked, This Way Comes”? ... Something Wicked may be a little darker, but some of the ‘lessons’ are quite similar.
Now that I see it has both Barbara Eden and Frank Cady (Sam Drucker), I may have to give it a chance.
That scene where the seer tells the old woman she’ll get older but no wiser, stiffer but not more dignified...one of the saddest things I ever heard!
The rest of the film...was just weird. I was very young, maybe it just went over my head?
Yeah, I remember that one. It’s okay if you’re 9 yrs old.
Tony Randall was one strange individual. Being a notorious neat freak was probably the most normal thing about him.
In one Tonight Show appearance, Johnny Carson was asking about his amazing memory and Randall told him he could remember being in the womb. At that time I don’t think the condition had ever been categorized (or taken seriously) but there since have been studies of something called “highly superior autobiographical memory” which enables people to remember events from their own life in extraordinary detail.
There since have been found other people claiming to be able to remember events in the womb. Marilu Henner (of “Taxi” TV show fame) can remember an event from every day in her life since age 11. She’s been tested by asking her what day of the week a certain date in that timeframe was on and she’s always 100% right. According to Wikipedia, there have been six peer-reviewed studies of people with the condition.
If Randall was pulling Carson’s leg, he never let on.
