Thank you very much and God bless you,

We have an entire generation of young men who have no idea what construction work is.
Larry Elder once had a radio show in Los Angles - he took many calls from black construction workers who said the Mexicans had taken over construction and would not hire them.
White construction workers complained that illegals vastly lowered the price of their labor.
I knew several men in college who worked construction during the summers, back when they could get lucrative jobs during the summer - and that’s how they paid their living expenses and tuition.
Now we have a lot of Mexican workers who do shoddy work...
Just sent to my grandson who is in construction...
I hope we can get our tech jobs back from the Indians some day.
Tuesday in downtown Austin on 6th, I saw a very complete and detailed workplace safety sign on a commercial construction site that was only printed in Spanish.
There was no safety sign in English.
Still does!
Can we at least get the mexican plumbers to understand that “C” means “Cold” and not “Caliente”?
That was good money back in the day. GCs couldn’t wait for school to get out in the summers because we’d be lined up, tools in hand, ready to swing hammers and handle dirt. The only job I would turn down every time, is bucking hay. I couldn’t stand it. Roofing, construction, chopping and splitting wood, mowing lawns... all day. Buck hay... nope. Not for one darned second if I could help it. Just had to sometimes because my dad loaned my ass out to some farmer for a couple of days because the ol’ boy took care of my dad’s stock for him during elk season. Dude would run my butt ragged for those couple of days too and I wouldn’t get paid for any of it. Maybe a lunch, but that was about it. Ain’t that a b!tch?
in so cal and in florida entire worksites in construction are latino/chicano/hispanic/whatever the hell else they’re called.
American workers deserve good wages.
That means driving out the cheap labor which is here illegally.
Yeah, that will drive up the cost of some services. But it’s worth it.
“We have an entire generation of young men who have no idea what construction work is.”
Well, we need to clear the way for them to have the opportunities to go learn it. It isn’t difficult.
I am sure you know, and I just wanted to add, costs do go up but everyone starts making more which creates a very robust economy.
Exactly.
When I was young I worked construction remodeling homes.
I would draw up the plans and get the permits for my boss.
20 years ago I retired after being an engineer and started getting permits for my
Mexican friends.
Never once did I see any other than a Mexican worker on those sites.
Flipping homes was popular 20 years ago.
I checked my neighborhood and only 1 out of 17 homes being remodeled
had a permit.
Most of my jobs were for Mexican people that got caught remodeling their homes
without permits.
I’ll bet that when the next earthquake hits, many houses are going to fall.
“I hope we can get our tech jobs back from the Indians some day.”
Amen. The H-1B visa program must be terminated.
“ The only job I would turn down every time, is bucking hay.”
Cmon man, that was honest work!
Stack them suckers 6 high on the hay rack.
Or be in the barn to stack them
Itchy work.
I remember when big companies started outsourcing factory work overseas.
So those unemployed American factory workers do trades construction, tree-trimming, etc.
Then democrats and cheap labor repubs started bringing in Mexicans to do those jobs—below a living wage because they can live a half-dozen to an apartment or trailer.
Robotics. Robots are replacing American workers in work from small industry to fast food.
Now “they” say we need H1bs in *white-collar* jobs, because—clearing throat, they seriously say this: they are better workers than Americans. Like Mexicans, it’s because they are cheaper.
Act 2, organizations like the “Club For Growth” (gop) won’t give up, they think they can piss on our legs, again, and tell us it’s raining.
America, Americans First.
>That’s racist, nativist xenophobia!
Damned right it is.
