The natural hair movement entered the mainstream during the civil rights movement. It became even more accepted in the 2000s when social media helped drive a resurgence.

But when it comes to nascent technologies like artificial intelligence, there isn't enough training data to create accurate representations of Black hair. In Atlanta, a Spelman College researcher is working to change that.

I'm so relieved!

I was terrified that the Number One Crisis Western Civilization is facing would go unaddressed!

I am still concerned that Blanca Burch will not receive the tens of millions in financing she will need to make AI black women's hair bounce realistically.

I will be counting the days until the study is completed.

Its not the hairstyle, its the attitude and culture that comes with it. I bet an Amish girl with same hairstyle would be warmly welcomed in more workplaces.
